  1. How about super-imposing a pic of my 4-legged companions head overtop of mine, like a transformation is almost completed with her features most visable?
  2. The main server is down for maint. Only the Forums and the Groundspeak store is available right now. Down time is between 2-3 hours.
  3. I noticed the Geocaching.com Web Site and Off Topic are not displayed when using I.E. They are listed when using Firefox.
  4. I just checked again, the regular cache icons are not being displayed in both IE and Firefox. All of the caches in McConnells Mill Park Slippery Rock Creek Cache do not show up. (As an example).
  5. I saw this problem one day last week, I thought it was just a fluke! Will check around some more.
  6. I checked the other caches by this owner, three out of four of his caches are having the same problem, being wet/damp. And from the placement of his caches, it shouldn't be a problem for him to take care of them better. The cache you stated that you recovered has been found not to long ago, but reports are still coming in that it is wet/damp. I would post it as CACHE NEEDS ARCHIVED and ask if the local approver could contact you. I think the local approver for your area is: crow@geocachingadmin.com The last post log was before you picked up the cache, my mistake.
  7. Thanks to a local user-group, I found a cool site that shows you how to make a data cable for the Etrex at home. Sure beats paying $40-$50. http://www.jens-seiler.de/etrex/datacable.html
  8. No disrespect to anyone, But in a nutshell, she is out of luck. Until she decides to become a full member, then I'd say she could log it.
  9. I heard about Geocaching on the tv one day, I came to the site and did a search by zip code and found 5-6 caches very near me. I did not have a gps at the time so I printed out a topo map and read all the logs. I then went out and found 3 caches that day just comparing my location to the "X" on the map. Yes! It was time consuming, but I found them.
  10. I completed 22 caches yesterday and noticed that only one was checked using the geocaching.com map feature. I waited til this morning thinking, giving the server some time may help. NADA. This problem seems to have happened sometime between March 17 to March 26.
  11. I would like to do some research of the Archived caches in the area, it would be great feature to add to the PQ's in the THAT field.
  12. Heres a thought I had today. Say you have a cache placed in a notch of land near but not in a park. Its two years later and you get a notice that your cache is found to be within the park, the park had purchased the notch of land about 6 months ago. This has not happened to me, but it could. 1. Do you comply with with DCNR rules? 2. Argue that the cache was there before the park bought the land? Post your thoughts or views!
  13. How far would you go to find a cache? Scale a downed tree thats rest in a fork of another tree aprox 4-8 feet above ground to get to a cache or stage? Place your hand into a container of goo ( safe, biodegradable, part of a stage ) to find a clue? Swing from one object to another ( at a safe height )? I would like to some pros and cons. Paul
  14. I have the same problem. Everything works except the My Account Link
  15. Watcher and others may do the job but, you have to request a PQ that may take 6 or more hours for the GC.com computer to decide to send its batch file out to the requestor. When I get the itch to plan a trip and bored silly staring at the 4 walls, do I want to wait all that time for a PQ? NO! I need something to do right NOW!

    Seek Geocache

Add an option/filter to search for caches in a certain compass direction: N NW W SW S SE E NE. Include a Field for distance in miles. Also include a combination of choices , say I want to look for caches in a NW direction, for about 30 miles, I could mark the W NW N. All caches in the 90 degree area should be displayed. Of course the other directions should be grayed out as logic demands. Ok! Lets hear some opions.
  17. I see the feature that aloud you to view a whole state has been removed. Is this a bug or was it removed by design? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
  18. Looking for someone from Salem OH. It looks like there are two great parks in Salem. Is there any reason why Salem doesn't have any caches around the area?
  19. Thats the one!! Don't know how I missed it on the list. THX!!
  20. Here is a link to another thread that will help you more: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...c=72546&hl=warn
  21. Someone sent me a link for a Locationless cache that deals with movie locations like the movie Striking Distance with Bruce Willis. I found a location that was used in Kingpin, I have the pic and other info ready to place on the cache page, but now I can't find the site. If you know the cache I'm talking about, please post a link or the name of this Locationless cache. THX! Paul
  22. Did a quick look see and found it!! And I don't even live in this area. Heres the link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...3e-a34c87ab4092
  23. I wish to add my name to this list. My dog ( Pokie ) loves to go on cache hunts with me. I'm always looking out for her ( snakes, etc ). We've been on hikes as long as 1-2 miles and she takes point on the way back to the car, and very seldom misses a turn in the trail on the way back. I once had a dream (Nightmare), that we got seperated somehow and I was frantic in looking for her. I sat bolt upright in bed calling her name, sick with the feeling that I had lost her. You ( all of us ) will never forget our beloved pets even when we get a new pet, they each have their own traits that another pet cannot match. Paul
  24. So you did!! Good job!
