  1. I hear your point about saving memory, especially as the difference between the basemaps is hard to detect. (Maybe someone on here knows what the difference is btw the 9MB Sportrak and the 14MB Meridian basemap?) I got this GPS as a (very welcome) present, and from what I can tell it costs $100+ for extended maps. I thought I'd get by with the basemap, that's why I updgraded - to get the biggest one available. If I do cave in and buy the maps, I guess I may downgrade to a smaller basemap. I got the map at: http://www.navicache.com/meridian_basemaps/NorthAmerica_Land_1_03.zip -f.
  2. Thanks a lot, I did get the map uploaded, but I want to double check on the map version... quote:Originally posted by Cracker7M:Well, first off, the NA 1_03 is the North American MARINE map..... The map I uploaded to my Sportrak Pro is the 'Meridian North American Basemap V1.03 Update', it came in a zipfile named 'NorthAmerica_Land_1_03.zip', the mapfile itself is called NA_G103.IMG and is 14.3MB in size. Is this the marine map?? I looked around on the map, and I didn't notice any difference in detail between it and the 9MB one that came with my Sportrak Pro. Thanks again for the help. -f.
  3. I tried updating the basemap on my sportrak pro as described by clps in this topic. However, when I run magup.exe nothing happens - it does not automatically prompt me to update the basemap as it said it should in the instructions that came with the basemap. I have Firmware 4.03, and I was trying to upload NorthAmerica_Land_1_03. Any ideas? -f
