  1. can someone let me know how to properly hand-off, or transfer a Travel Bug I've found to another geocacher? I've been called out-of-town for work and don't have time to place this bug (aka couldn't find~) in a cache convenient to my travels. I've seen the instructions for this before, but cannot locate them.
  2. I love the idea of a paintball cache in a scenario game. How's this (depends on the size of the crowd): ONE ROUND PER PLAYER FOR EACH TEAM AT GAME START. "General" can combine the initial allocation to a few heavy hitters while everyone else goes looking for the opposite team's ammo "dump" before the real action begins. Hide a few cases of paint near each basecamp and give the coordinates of the opposing team's cache. Allow guppies on the field after the caches are found. This from a guy who goes to Blanding with a Phantom.
  3. quote: If the census people are the source of the information for these maps maybe there's just not enough people on these streets to warrent the memory it takes to put them there. OK, call me silly. Exactly what "census" data are we talking about? Last census person I talked too asked me the name of the road they were parked on. My answer, "My driveway." (Its ~9' wide asphalt about 200 feet long off a cul-de-sac.) To be sure this isn't the source of any mapping data.
  4. I'd like to see a true, small bumper sticker besides the static cling (I too have tinted windows) and the Euro ovals (of which I've already purchased). Normal small square logo. This would be a nice start, and for the price, something that could be included with membership (at the very least). When seen at a trailhead, it would be nice to know if the other person kicking dirt at the other turn of the trail might be doing the same thing you are ... waiting for them to leave LOL. Come to think of it, some other small trinkets, like cheap pens can be made and distributed for low cost. Both would make great cache stuffers. I doubt either would cause a glut in any particular cache.
  5. Try paintball in T-Shirts!!!
  6. I don't know why, but my wife thought for years that Pez dispensers would be something I would enjoy collecting . I've noticed in descriptions I've searched (initial or logs) that Pez dispensers have shown up a few times. Is this a geocache icon of sorts? Do the kids go for these? I've made a pledge to myself to include something useful or something someone's kid(s) might really enjoy. I still go as inexpensive as I can, but will pick up several popular items if I run across them at a reasonable price.
  7. I never considered "Panties" when I came up with my username. Many other things. Some suggestive, some silly, and some just ordinary ... but not Panties. I like it! Dare I say it, Let's try some orienteering!

  9. All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance! I've just purchased a Garmin Legend and would like to know which software would be best suited for my purposes. I do alot of boating and paddling on local I(Upstate SC) inland lakes and would like the best detail available for islands, obstructions, bridges, and other essential information. Roads are always nice, but not essential unless the detail would help in traveling and geocaching ... finding POIs and trailheads, etc. Again, thanks in advance! Dave Dare I say it, Let's try some orienteering!
