  1. I have a Garmin eTrex Vista for sale. I bought it last fall and it has done well for me while geocaching. I just recently bought a Garmin 60 csx and I don't need 2 gps units so I am selling this one. It comes with the neoprene case, neckstrap, and cable (9-pin). It is in reasonably good condition and my friend updated the unit a few months ago for me. I don't know what it's worth so I'm asking less than I paid for it. I would like to get $100 but will also consider offers. This is a nice gps unit for anyone getting started in geocaching but doesn't have a lot of money to buy a $500 unit. Any questions, please e-mail me! Thanks!
  2. Hi, I have a Garmin eTrex Vista that I'm looking to sell. I just bought a Garmin 60csx and don't need to keep the vista. It's in reasonably good condition and comes with the neoprene case, neck strap, and computer cable. I was going to ask $100/obo (plus shipping from 07825) for it since I don't know what it's worth. Let me know if you're interested.
  3. Interesting topic! I have a geoshedder myself...I mean German Shepherd! He is the best! Endless energy, carries his own pack, great nose, good protection, knows good strangers from bad, obedience trained, goes through anything, even briars, loves snow, doesn't eat too much, finds invisible trails and deer trails, and rabbit trails, and mouse trails, and geocachers trails. I love him! I just haven't quite been able to teach him to find the actual cache yet! Ah well...wouldn't trade him for the world!
  4. I'm a geocacher & a pilot so I'll take a look.
  5. I have noticed that sometimes when geocachers get together and cache together they will share a log and each get credit for it. At least this is what it looks like to me. I cache a lot with a friend of mine and we each have to log in seperately to log our find. How do we log in together as "Misty's Shadow & ......" having found a cache.
  6. My pup is a 4-year old, 80 pound, 26 inch at the shoulder, German Shepherd & he wears his pack on most days when we go caching. In the summer I put his water & collapsible bowl along with treats in it. In the winter I put the same & the pack has the advantage of keeping him warmer by cutting the wind. I have never seen it hinder him in any way nor has he gotten "hung up" with it. Of course, for his safety, he is always on lead when on the trail. He seems to like the pack & gets all excited when I bring it out since it represents a fun hike to him. I almost can't get him to stop wiggling long enough to put it on him! As for carrying his booties: I keep them in his pack at home so I can find them. He wears them whenever the trail is rough & rocky, snowy, icy, salty, briar stickery, or any time I feel he needs protection for his paws. A lot of the times if we are going to be scrambling I will take them off so he can grip with his claws (he loves to rock climb) since the boot leather will slide.
