  8. Just thought of this too - After you pour the water in, cache comes up. You sign the log/trade stuff and put the cache back in. The water is still in the pipe and the cache will still float. Therefore, the 1st finder would have to bring water and, depending if the water drains or not, the following finders may or may not have to bring water.
  9. I've done one cache that recquired you to go to different coords in order to figure out the combination. It was pretty easy and hard to screw up. Here's the cache page: Macs Tracks
  10. On Ebay, search for 'Ghost in a Jar' - you'll get some really funny returns. For Example here
  11. Drop off your Travel bugs at: Johnny Cache's Midsouth Tour. Friday (04/07) before Noon.
  12. This has probably been posted before but - I'm interested in getting some mapping software to log found and yet to be found caches for Georgia. I'm using ExpertGPS right now for my Garmin Venture but would love to have detailed maps of more than 1 cache location. I have XP and saving money is more important than having TOPO features. Essentially, I would like to plan my trips for geocaching and print out directions also but the priority is just plotting out caches I have found and not found. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

  14. 1. How did you find out/start geocaching? - Found out about it on TV about a year ago. Found site November last year 2. Who/what got you started geocaching? - Enjoy cartography and geography. Loved exploring as a kid (still a kid!) 3. How often you do it? - Atleast every weekend. 4. How long have you been doing it? - January 2003 5. Spending amounts: a. Price of GPS - $160 b. Placing a cache - Haven't placed one yet c. other equipment and prices (lights, ropes, etc) - Gas for car - 1 Arm and 1 Leg (thank god I have some left over)
  15. I've been having some trouble with my Etrex Venture getting a good reliable signal while hunting for a cache in the woods. I understand that the thick tree-cover will hinder my receiver but is there a way to do some kind of 'distance averaging' when you can't get a good signal. For example, I found this feature available on a Sportrak in another forum: "wait a 30 secs or so until you get a reasonable accuracy (<40 feet), remember the distance and bearing to the cache and use your sight&go-feature (don´t know what it´s called on your Sportrack) and walk the projected distance in the direction of the cache." Thanks
  16. The site is not in Peachtree City. It's actually just outside of Palmetto in South Fulton Co. Anyways, I've decided to focus on placing a cache somewhere else. Its gonna be closer to home and a lot more fun to plan. I can't wait to get it going. I was trying to search the net for any email addy's and/or property info but I got frustrated. Fulton co. is a pain and not research-from-home friendly in my opinion. I will be happy to send the pics & info to anyone else if they are interested in placing a cache there. Thanks for the responses ya'll!
  17. Customer service for a medical maufacturing company. Love the benefits and the company but my goals are to find something in cartography or computer hardware.
