  1. The activation codes are on the small manila envelopes the turtles came in. Hopefully you didn't throw them away like I almost did I saved all the excellent packaging (whew!). Thanks---don't know how I missed that.
  2. I love my new coin! Great design! Where do we get activation codes?
  3. I didn't actually hear about geocaching...I kind of stumbled across it after receiving a Garmin GPSIII for Christmas 2002. My dad and I are both licensed pilots and he thought it was something I could use for either flying or to map elevations and routes while cycling. I was visiting my folks in New Mexico at the time and a couple days after getting the GPS and seeing some of the cool things it could do, I took it along on a ride to the top of Sandia Peak on the tramway. After getting back to the house, I went online and did a search for coordinates of some of the features I had seen on the mountain. One of the pages that came up was a geocache. In fact it was this one. I was intrigued but it was winter and this was at very high elevation. Still I really wanted to find it. Then I went to the home page and did a search at my coords on the off chance there was another one closer. What came up shocked me: these things were all over and there was one within walking distance! Well I proudly announced to my folks that I was off to find a geocache! They said "huh? geo-what?" So off I went across the mesa for .81 mile and there it was, a film can hanging in a juniper bush. I could hardly believe that it was really there! I was so excited...I had found a new use for my GPSr! Next day I borrowed the car and found two more and have been hooked ever since. I'll never forget that first one though; it was archived last year.
  4. WooHoo grossi! A most methodical countdown to the perfectly executed milestone. The weather even cooperated! looking forward to the logs and pics!
  5. A huge congratulations to jcar who joined the exclusive 4-digit club today! Number 1000 was hit at this challenging Lord Hill cache, one that I DNF'd on my attempt.
  6. This is great news! The new constellation appears highly favorable for the West Coast. In wide open terrain we might even get all three WAAS birds!
  7. I like this design! Put me down for two.
  8. Astounding! She just hit 1800 on Jan 1! At this rate 2000 by the end of the month?? Congrats!
  9. Didn't you manage to snag one of those?? I silkscreened 10 dozen bandanas with the BCM logo on them that people could grab during the cider/cookie stop #20. I had a few left over that I put out at the dinner but they disappeared right away! Sorry you didn't get one -- I don't have any leftover Hey hydnsek! MR and I grabbed two at the dinner. We don't need two. We can share. I would be glad to give you one. Send me your address! I gave RWW two of them, one of each colour, to show Moun10Bike as an idea for the summer campout. You can have one of those after he's seen them! If hydnsek manages to snag an extra one I'd like one too. Our whole crew really missed the boat on these. I kept hearing the word "bandana" at the dinner and thought Pepper was making another quilt or something
  10. Congrats Cathy on your 1800 milestone. WTG!
  11. Yep, I was one of them. And my 3rd anniversary was yesterday, Dec 29! Just logged find #1800 today here in Albuquerque .
  12. Yep and I'm taking my 10 days off in Albuquerque....and caching lots, of course! I can never get enough fake rocks and fake cactus hides!
  13. Palm Tungsten E GSAK Cachemate These three are an awesome combination for paperless caching!
  14. I do both too, but not at the same time. Sometimes after finding the cache I'll grab the detector. Same parks, different activities that both involve finding "treasure" in different ways. The two hobbies complement each other quite well. I'm using a White's Prizm IV when detecting.
  15. Congrats to grossi and jcar for the simultaneous 900's! And Pepper at 3K...wow! Nice going!
  16. I may show, weather permitting. If it's pouring I probably wont be there. I have already hit quite a few of the U-District caches by bicycle but there are many I still need to get.
  17. It was a tough and worthy challenge. But the Saturday Cache Gang is still unstoppable! It was close though..this one almost beat us but we prevailed in the end, four hours later!
  18. I'm likely to be there for this latest challenge. I enjoyed last Saturday's outing alot.
  19. They moved to a new domain: www.frappr.com. The WSGA one is here.
  20. Thanks! Massive, torrential sheets of rain....$0.00 Cold wind........................................$0.00 Darkness of night............................$0.00 Finding 14 caches (incl milestone) with a friend.....Priceless!
  21. I'll be missing it once again. I'll be in New Mexico looking for more "fake rock" hides.
  22. Great idea! It's amazing how many suburban areas have gone almost untouched in my solo efforts. This would be a fun incentive for weekend caching at this time of year.
  23. Yeah, I'm for that! I also attended the original Bellingham Cache Machine. By the way the BCH was NOT a TravisL Cache Machine but you never would have known it...it was beautifully set up and run...proof that it can be done!
  24. Yikes!! The madness is sure to begin anew!
  25. Thankfully, many of us have already had our Ver. 2 Moun10Bike Coin adventure and don't have to chase them anymore
