  1. My son's eagle scout project is a series of caches hidden near all the historical monument signs in our town. Is there a way I can incorporate all those caches into a single download for someone who is not a premium member (customer is the general public, not heavy cachers). *20 caches *I've thought of putting links to all 20 on the first cache page, but that seems a bit labor intense for a non-cacher. *Only really have room for one link on the sign we are making for a city park.\ *Pocket queries don't work if you aren't a paying member and I can't expect that of a tourist. Thanks in advance
  2. I have lobster mounts on both my VTX 1800 cruiser and my semi-recumbent bicycle. My gsr is on the handlebars of whichever I am using. Works great. http://www.lobstermount.com/
  3. Get. Out. And I thought people leaving dirty used children's-meal toys was bad.
  4. Oh, yeah. Working a multi cache park once and noticed another guy walking around searching a bit with a GPS in his hand. "Geocaching?" "YES!" "Cool. Me too. I go by Albanach." "AND YOU'RE SCOTTISH?!!!" We had a lot in common. He gave me a celtic geocoin.
  5. Ordered it on Netflix when I saw it on the base page here and got it in the next day. Watched it that night. They are definitely going for the Napoleon Dynamite/Revenge of the Nerds crowd, which imho is a pretty low mark. I would give it a one smile just because of the geocaching and the cool grandpa. Oddly, I got another movie with the same actress that same night, never having seen her before, called Bottle Shock that I recommend highly, though it starts slowly. Still not family viewing, but interesting history of the breakout of the Napa Valley Wines when they beat the French wines for the first time in a blind taste test and french judges.
  6. I realized it first when I placed a cache and had a couple of complaints that the coordinates were off. Later I took both GPSs with me to the cache and the new one (yes, both bought new) showed a NEW set of coordinates from the time I set the cache. Also both GPSs held side by side at the same angle (tops higher than bottoms) read different readings by as much as 40 feet.
  7. I have two gps's, and my etrex reads off from my 60csx almost all the time. Believe it or not, the older etrex gets better readings and the gpsmap 60csx is often as much as 40 feet off. Is there something I need to do to make my "NEWER AND BETTER" gps more accurate?
  8. I have a cache I think would be awesome in an area not really covered up with cashes so I don't think saturation is a concern. The only problem is there is an old cache less than 500 feet away. Are there exceptions to the rules? Could I make it a puzzle cache with several points that end within the 500 ft range? Albanach Morristown, TN
  9. Thanks! I knew it was something simple. And it not being an online manual I just had to hunt and peck through it looking for "off road" Didn't think to look for "routing". Thanks again, both of you.
  10. On my old etrex vista cx I always had the option to choose off road or follow road. Somehow on my GPSmap 60CSx I never have the option to choose off road. It doesn't give me the option to do the bushwacking. Surely I'm missing a setting somewhere. Help!
  11. I got a 2/5 on my island cache as well.
  12. I have one cache that is dry in winter and wet in summer. I used a gatoraide bottle with a quick release snap to allow it to be brought to the surface, though no one took the time to find it this summer. I will say that the eye-bolt through the top an silicone gel around the drilled hole made for a dry cache that was underwater for 7 months this summer.
  13. Heh, thanks. Any must see caches anyone can suggest? Maybe near some of the must see sites? There are a ton of caches to wade through on the map.
  14. Actually, since I was only gonna be there for two weeks, I was hoping for something cheaper. But thanks anyway.
  15. Is there a way to download road/topo maps for just a specific country without buying all of Europe?
  16. I realize this isn't an exact science, but does it frustrate you when your gps won't stay on one point? I was looking for a supposedly easy park and grab today but my GPS is telling me the coordinates for the cache are still 60 feet west of where I'm standing. I go to the other side of the 30' deep building, and now I'm off 200'. Also, as a fairly new cacher, how often do you just give up on a cache? I've found in my 20 caches three or four additional that just aren't there anymore (confirmed by placer). Are these normal numbers?
