  1. Well, my trip is over and I am back HOME in ALABAMA!! WOOHOO!! I wasn't able to hit as many caches as I wanted, but I did get to a few that were very close to where I was staying: Fentastic X2Trail Paws Down Appleseed #1 (IN WHICH I LEFT A TB from AL.) Thanks to the Hiders of these caches; I enjoyed them all!! Pudman
  2. Here is a quick access rest area for Bugs in Alabama. Off of I-65.Bug Rest Stop
  3. Erik, I am not from that area either, but if I were you, I would try to contact VESOLE for some prime recommendations. I think he is from there and he does an awful lot of caches in that area. From his logs he seems to be a pretty good guy......papaw and caleb GOOD LUCK!!!
  4. Am I missing something? What's the difference in the 2? Mine works and it was the latest from TOPOGRAPHIX.?
  5. I have a 120 and I love it. I see accuracy to 7 feet regularly. I don't know about the position reporting, as I haven't ran into anyone else with one.
  6. Joel, I use EasyGPS to keep track of all our found caches, as well as dl not found ones for cache hunting trips. I don't recall having this problem, but I usually dl all our finds from the GPS to a Found caches folder before reloading new caches. I've got MS streets and trips preloaded on my new puter, but don't know how to use it yet. I want to use it to make a map with different colored pins for found and Not found yet caches. I think I will need to convert the files to another format, but thats another topic......and I 'm not very computer literate!!!
  7. Yes, it will be tough with all the holidays and events going on this month, but if at all possible, we will be there! We haven't done any of the ones in Oak Mtn park!
  8. Don'tcha wish the "Pirate" would steal Pan's posts!
  9. mine was free with my new DELL, Dude!!! (Puter was actually a good deal, too)
  10. According to what I have read about the strap, it is supposed to be installed either on the metal battery latch loop or through the webbing between the antennaes. I personally don't think either place would be suitable and I wouldn't use the freakin' thing if it had it's own loop in the 1st place! I think the belt clip is much better. Pudman
  11. Thanks Markwell! I like your avatar too! I will have rental car, but can't travel too far. I will definitely hit the closest ones, tho.
  12. still no noticable difference in 3.0 & 3.10 that I can see *edited due to thick fingers [This message was edited by Pudman&Pookie2 on April 18, 2003 at 02:14 PM.]
  13. Just Joking!! I must have woke up feeling a little devilish. I have done a couple of virts and they were ok! SHeesh!
  14. How to correctly maintain a virtual cache: DELETE IT (Now don't everyone go for the flame thrower at once! [This message was edited by Pudman&Pookie2 on April 18, 2003 at 08:35 AM.]
  15. Glad to see you made it to the forums, Bonsai! (I'm still ticked that you and Sasscat beat me to that cache!!) Pudman
  16. My .02: After reading this entire thread, the first thing I thought of was "who cares, another ugly forum discussion". Then I felt "compelled" to respond. Although there are some good points being made here, we can't regulate the character of the cacher--only the cache placement, and only the cache itself to a certain extent. I have been to some lame caches and some great caches and have hid one which seems to have been a hit with those that have found it. I don't remember how many I had found at the time I placed it, (not 15) but I already knew what a lame one was by spending the time to read EVERYHING I could about this sport/game (WHATEVER) beforehand. I feel I could improve my hiding skills and plan to as I continue. I still have a good time no matter if the cache I find IS lame. Many people do not want to learn anything or just don't take the time to--they just want to be participating. You nor I nor anyone else can do anything about that. Bottom Line: I was taught to do my best in everything I do and that applies to Caching too! You can tell alot about a person by his/her cache. Or at least what mood they were in!
  17. I will be at this resort in May. Any caches close by or ones I "must see"? I won't have too much time away from the conference, but want to hit at least one! Also I would be glad to transport any TB to Al. if someone needs one to move that way, please respond. Thanks! Pudman
  18. M R Ducks. M R Not Ducks. O S A R, C M Wings? C M Feet? Y I B! M R Ducks!
  19. If you are trying to find MOC in Birmingham, I don't know of any--or maybe I can't see them either! Pudman
  20. I would like one too, please.
  21. Looks like the Geo Tracking Team and Team Jedi went to the same school or at least skipped english together.
  22. I usually won't take batteries from a cache. The one time I did was because I checked them and they were DEAD! I try to stay as prepared as possible so I won't need them. Have you ever seen what battery acid does to a cache? Even good Ziplocks can't contain that stuff!
