  1. This is a few weeks late but these people http://aceeca.com/ have a 64 bit driver that worked with the E2.
  2. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...94-a3ad3d8d7b73 is currently in http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...78-522dab4d7284 I'm tempted to grab it and move it if I KNEW there was cache in the same general area which is my home turf (or N. CONN.) or the Scranton PA area (going there is 2 weeks). If you know of one, let me know. If this TB is still there, I'll grab it. This is the biggest container I've come across. Caches (and TBs) this size are few and far between.
  3. Thanks. I was trying to get to google from the geocaching map page with the error. Never tried google directly from the cache page. I did have a period of time this afternoon for about 15 minutes where the geocaching we page did work. Learned something new today. That's a good thing.
  4. Stinks, doesn't it. My caching GPS doesn't have street maps in it. I do have a car GPS. I usually print out the google maps (which also doesn't work) and at a glance I can get a feel for where the caches are. Without the paper print out, or even looking at the PC, it's very tough to figure out where something is and how to get there. My car GPS can do directions but entering N + W for a cache into it, to see where it is, is a pain, doing one a time What you can do, is click the map on the caches main page with the description of the cache, but that's only good for one cache at a time.
  5. I just bought an adaptor from http://sewelldirect.com/ to hook up an old PALM III XE. Works like a charm. I think it was $18.XX with shipping
  6. A MIO 310 is a car GPS that is Flat (you can put it in your pocket). Can be powered by the cigarette lighter or runs off of batterys. You can pick one of them up for $200 when they go on sale (which seems to be every couple of weeks). I used it for geocaching before I purchased a venture cx. Touch screens, winter, gloves don't go together which is why I bought the venture. I really like it, and for the price I don't think it can be beat.
  7. Did you leave it on purpose to cause problems, with the intent to stir things up? If yes, then yes you should pay up, after you and your sorry a** serves a jail sentence. Most of the people on the 9/11 aircraft were from Mass., RI or NH. 4 people from my town died on 9/11, either on the planes or in New York and I live about 90 minutes from Boston. One of them was a neighbor of mine when I was a kid. He died working at the WTC. I don't buy the "they've been there for weeks". If they were, then "EVERYBODY" ignored them for weeks? Right. If that's the case then every metro area in the country is inept in seeing these things. In many circumstances in this country, you screw up mountain climbing, you get a bill for the rescue. Why should willfull stupidity by minions of a Fortune 500 corporation (and the Fortune 500 corporation) not be held accountable?
  8. When I downloaded the drivers, I downloaded them to the desktop and installed from there. While the install "Took", the venture never showed up, though the Micro SD in it sometimes did. I then took the USB Driver (I'm at work and don't remember if it's a EXE or ZIP) and placed it in C:\GARMIN and then did the install. This time I got a Garmin program that popped up and everything worked fine after that.
  9. Yesterday I recieved my Venture CX from Amazon.com. The box didn't contain the beltclip + I wasn't 100% sure wether it was standard or an optional accessory. I called Garmin up, and the rep. wasn't sure, but he took my name + address and said he would send one out. I believe their Web site has it priced at $12.95.
  10. I've been using the 310 also and have done the hack. It's good enough for now, but I'm looking for a dedicated "outdoors" unit. I downloaded a freeware 3rd party GPS program (the name escapes me right now) origonally written in French but does have a english translation. Works pretty good for free, but the touch screen interface and outdoors really doesn't go together. It's unfortunate that all the magellan + garmin deals (garmin rebates and or costco magellan 500 LE) seem to be over for now. I've had to do a hard reset once to get the sats working and I lost the hack in the process. As a car GPS, other than not saying the street names (which I don't miss) the 310 is a screaming deal when $200 and under.
