Caching with small children in tow
Team Crime Scene replied to mousekakat's topic in General geocaching topics
Nice find! Remember trade even or trade up................ -
We have both the yellow and the blue legend. It makes it simple to download waypoints for two of the same units. My daughter uses the yellow one and it works great. The only problem is we had to buy a serial/USB adapter to connect the units to the computer....

Where's the Beating a dead horse emoticon? For me the thirty bucks is worth the PQ's. Depending on where I am going in a particular week I change the waypoints at least twice a week. The "Members Only" caches in our area are few and far between. Paying for a premium membership does not justify getting it for those caches when there are more interesting and creative caches out in the wild...........Maybe I'm from a different mindset but thirty bucks is Cheap. I've spent a whole lot more money and had a lot less fun. Even one trip to the movies with your honey will set ya back 30.00.

I'm not really impressed with the jeep. Not up to matchbox or hotwheels quality......................... -

I also use an Etrex. I use an adapter from Belkin. I purchased it at the local Best Buy And I have had NO problems. Sorry I do not remember how much I paid for it. Good Luck -
Did I screw up already placing my first travel bug?
Team Crime Scene replied to Angelo Music's topic in Trackables
Per topic...Yes. -
Our reviewers are wonderful. If everything is in order my caches have been published in a few hours. I had one that took days but that was because we had to wait on our local cache ranger (We really do have one) to approve the location in a county park.

Mine says What?

Well worth 3 bucks/month! Agreed

That sucks.. I really like Cache he was a good rat. I had the chance to visit him early in May while I was in the area. He was hidden really well as I remember. It is harldy likely that someone just stumbled on him. Maybe a cache clone would be in order. TCS

Downloading Waypoints into Garmin eTrex
Team Crime Scene replied to mbc1963's topic in General geocaching topics
We use an Etrex Legend. It came with a cable that has a serial port. Being the computer has no visable or available serial ports we purchased an adapter cable at the local Best Buy. We use Easy GPS for transmitting. It seems pretty easy. Download a pocket query and transmit to the gps. Done. -
I usually add a James W Barr dollar bill to my Caches. It's not really worth much other than the historic value. I've found Gems (not cut worthy), Gold dollars, hand made items. The best prize for FTF is the smiley....

Why are geocachers so nice?
Team Crime Scene replied to eagleapex's topic in General geocaching topics
O.K. As a freshman cacher I have also experienced the friendships of great people. I find it kind of like a "secret society" when you meet up with people who have the same interests you tend to enjoy the comapny and stories of the more seasoned veterans. maybe I can relate it to that bondage party. Oh wait that's another thread... -
Why are Benchmarks listed as finds but don't count toward your total?

High Gas Prices and Geocaching
Team Crime Scene replied to Tweedledum & Tweedledee's topic in General geocaching topics
I usually cache on the way home from wherever my job takes me for the day. I'll stop and grab a cache or two. All the fuel expense gets passed on to the customer in higher costs. As for a driving vacation, We have discussed staying closer to home. There is so much right in our backyard that we haven't experienced. -
I drive a large F350 Diesel guzzling ford. I have no plans to either stop driving it or place my caching on hold. I use the truck for work and pleasure. As a business owner I'll just pass the expense along to the customers.

How do I delete a photo uploaded to my cache?
Team Crime Scene replied to Want2bemore's topic in General geocaching topics
As with the other posts, I don't see the big deal. If your offended or afraid that someone else might be ask the poster to remove his photo.... -

What equals "bad" for you?
Team Crime Scene replied to Clan Riffster's topic in General geocaching topics
I suppose hiking through 2 miles of deep swampland on a multi stage cache only to find out after two visits that the cache placement is 120 feet off. Now that's bad. As with the others I concur, It is not a bad cache but lack of planning on the cachers part. -
I like to watch the tougher caches I've completd so Cudos can be sent to those that complete them. ( PT2 and The Ghost Orchid along with others) A cacher named Geomann1 has some really creative hides in our area so I watch those. Other than those I don't really keep close tabs on anything else. Tb's and coins i do not watch. Anyone want to go on a kayak trip?

What else did you find?
Team Crime Scene replied to Scooter Bill's topic in General geocaching topics
Went looking for a fairly easy cache. Placed my hands under the rock and pulled out a pill bottle full of pot. Seems a kid working at the establisment had hidden it there before work. Surprise. Left an empty container for the kid. The cache was still hidden under the same rock a week late. It had a wonderfull camo job... -
