  1. We have family commitments (another geocaching team “Klitsgras” our oldest son will tie the knot on the 14th November). We know our sandpit team family “DiePienaars” will also visit Gauteng but will be with us and not at the event. Hope you enjoy the day at the lovely Gardens and maybe you can setup a plan “B”, the last picnic event in JHB from Global Rat was moved due to a heavy rain storm.

    I spy

    Good morning Carbon Hunter….
  3. Thanks, only one cacher placed a cache on our doorstep (4.6Km) ….it is time RedGlobe can also enjoy the privilege to have caches close to home.
  4. Mmm Besem.....the one we are awaiting permission is in your area…..maybe we have the same plan in action?????
  5. We are still in the process of collecting info on one new cache, but hopefully we can sort this out the weekend…on our second new cache we are still awaiting permission of the land managers….hope we can still add caches before the end of October.
  6. This is the first time I try to guess a answer on this forum topic….my guess is Barberton!!!
  7. We enjoy doing puzzle caches like Global Rat and Rhino’s puzzles (Stoddard’s demise, Descartes Communiqué, Fiddle Sticks and It’s not a numbers game). The really difficult caches we struggle with are the ones from Donkasand, but I noticed they are not listed any more????

    Milestones

Baie geluk Gerhard met die GROOT 1000…..Now you will see you have to start all over….it feels like in the beginning. Congratulations again
  9. We are also busy with the preparations to place one or two caches in October
  10. Sorry I did not have a new log sheet with me for a nano, and did not read the previous logs. I will be in that area tomorrow and see if I can replace your log sheet.

    Milestones

WOW…..just to put things in perspective…..they did my Tonteldoos cache two weeks ago with their 2300th find…..and now they will do their 2500th find two weeks later on the final Tonteldoos cache…..IMPRESSIVE.
  12. Yes we agree that it was only for the FTF prize that a team had to do all the caches in the series, but now you can use any method to find the final cache and it is up to cachers if they want to complete the series or not. P.S. The Balmoral Cache was not muggled but was burned during a local field fire….
  13. We have heard thru the RedGlobe grape wines that the Final Tonteldoos cache will be discovered this coming weekend… ..sorry we will not be able to witness this BIG milestone… .please add some photos. Who will be next?????????
  14. Congratulations Noddy on the new EarthCache…just in time for the challenge….DiePienaars never got going on their planned EarthCache.

    Milestones

Congratulations iPajero on the 2300th find and thanks for reaching this milestone on our Tonteldoos cache, and this one being your first cache in the North West Province…..all those finds and not in all the provinces….WOW
  16. Just a quick hint for the racers …..if a TB is in the sandpit area this coming weekend, it will score lots of FTF bonus points with the Noddy challenge.
  17. I tried my best to keep “DiePienaars” coin back for the other racers to move ahead, but it seems the coin just won’t give up…..

    Welcome

Welcome 'nadia@1618events.co. We are based just north of Pretoria and yes there is lots more geocachers in Pretoria with the majority in Centurion area. Please see the event later in August on the listing and it will be good to meet the other cachers. PS. I do not see any cache logs on your profile of the caches you have found?
  20. We hope to be there that weekend for both events and will see if we can convince a muggle friend (farmer from Louws Creek) to join us and convert them into geocachers.
  21. ... So far I have 5 Earth Caches done just need one more. My EC is been reviewed as I type here. Forgot to put my full name so they asked for that.... Just hope that they accept it. Already have my Bronze Pin.... Wazat we hope your EC gets published in time, but you need a EC find in another province (not in Gauteng or KZN) before this Saturday the 1st August, for your Silver Status. Maybe you need a trip up to Mpumalanga and do one of those EC’s this week.
  22. Thanks Glider Slider, we confirm that we are still willing to help out. We will also be there for the normal event afterwards to relax.
  23. I know Fish Eagle have Silver status and also working for his Gold status.
  24. Thanks for all the congratulations we have received. We are just waiting for our latest EC to be published (after the corrections on the listing) and then its time to find the KZN EC’s to double our status. PS. Bouts – if you do the two Limpopo Earthcahes and my EC in KZN it will provide you with the 5 provinces needed without going to far away.
  25. Thanks CH, this achievement was done mainly due to your influence and all the great EC’s you placed around South Africa. I know there are more cachers in SA that are working hard to get there Platinum Masters. Carbon Hunter you put EC’s in SA on the map and hopefully when your return you will have a feast and can get your Platinum status.
