  1. The imageproxy is either caching images, or telling my browser to cache images, they're not getting updated on the page I view when they change on the server.

I have several stats badges on my profile page, one is Church micro stats, its source is here - http://www.15ddv.me.uk/geo/cm/awards/cm_award.php?name=alan666notb

When I view it on my profile page, it is served from here - https://imgproxy.geocaching.com/767082877b3748779959eb636013e39128bbd422?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.15ddv.me.uk%2Fgeo%2Fcm%2Fawards%2Fcm_award.php%3Fname%3Dalan666notb

However, the second image doesn't change when the original does. I discovered this when I noticed the number of finds shown wasn't increasing.

I tried opening the image in a separate tab (it showed the 'old' number), I then reloaded that tab (Now the 'latest' number showed).

When I reloaded my profile page the latest image was now shown (This didn't happen when I just reloaded my profile page).

I am trying to add a photo to the BODY of my cache description (not worried about the background)

    Before I did this

    <p><img alt src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/gs-geo-images/448ab7dd-0fb6-4c43-a34f-9e69b0068883.jpg" /></p>

Now it seems I need to do this

    <p><img alt src="https://www.geocaching.com/seek/image.aspx?imgid=5209334" /></p>

HOWEVER - that does not display the image in my description

What do I need to do instead ?   (not an HTML expert btw)

    Tks

Try pasting the 2nd URL into a browser window, it should redirect to the s3.amazonaws.com site and you can then cut&paste the URL it ends up at.

It'll only have the clue if it was published since July 11th. ie today. Existing events aren't guaranteed to have them.

The FAQ says 'Hosted', not 'published' ...

    Do Event Caches have clues?

Events hosted between July 11 and August 11, 2019 will all receive the detective clue.

  4. There's a strange bug where some people are unable to use the 'View Larger Map' link from a cache page.

It results in a 'This page can't be found' error with a very long URL, I'll attach a screenshot of the start of it.

I've seen it several times but can't reliably reproduce it, there's a FB thread at the moment about a particular cache page, GC17CYK [ Manchester Invasion ], some people see the error, some don't. I see it using Chrome on Windows 10.

    Any ideas what's going on?

  5. Don't know how important this is, but the symbols on the menu pallet for the "Enable location info", "Goto home location" and "Config options" have disappeared on my browser. The functions still work, there's just no icons there. The other two icons ("Hide icons" and "Route tool") are still present.

    I'm using GME v0.8.2 on Chrome 67.0.3396.99

  6. Spoke too soon!

I see that you have problems with 1and1 ISP which is what I use, I created a spare gmail account, made it my primary account on geocaching.com and set the gmail account to forward messages to my 1and1 account. Now I get notifications straight away.

But what a faff!, what's going on? Either you or 1and1 really need to sort this out.

  7. OK, here's something unusual ..

I picked up a this TB at an event - Doc's Shake (TB5TYMK)

When I went to log it I found it hadn't been dropped in the event yet so I 'watched' it, Then the cacher who previously held it told me he had dropped it in the event, so I retrieved it without waiting for an Email notifying me of the drop.

Sometime later, I get the following Emails...

---- 02/01/2018 00:42 Retrieve It from a Cache (Date stamped  20:52 by GS)

---- 02/01/2018 04:41 Dropped Off (Date stamped 16:27 by GS)

So, I received the 'retrieved' email approx 4 hours before the 'dropped' email.

  8. I'm getting huge delays in some Log notification Emails, up to 24 hours between someone logging one of my caches and me receiving the Emails. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, it doesn't affect any particular cache, TB or log type.  It's been happening for over a week or so and isn't just affecting me, my partner is also seeing similar delays, also seemingly at random.

Here's the relevant header fields from two Emails I received four hours apart, I logged a maintenance performed on one of my caches and dropped a TB I was watching with the same log entry.
