  3. Thanks, Friends! We just saw this tonight. He has already been to his first event, but no caches yet. See you out there!
  4. Actually, the accuracy of me finding a cache is FIRST and foremost dependent on the GPS of the HIDER. If their GPS is not accurate, or they choose to not give accurate coordinates, there is nothing my GPS can do to help the situation. Even at three years old, our GPS is rarely further than a few feet off. However, if a hider does not give accurate coords, my GPS will take us further from the cache. So yes, in some cases, it is necessary to blame the cache owner.
  5. I think the problem is that not many people are going up JUST for Saturday. They are staying in hotels, camping, and renting houses and such. I would offer our car, but we are staying with relatives that night. We could get you there, but not home!
  6. The 4-mile walk along the riverfront trail would certainly help move things along. Yeah, doesn't really sound like the best idea. Sad
  7. I love Astoria....but I am wondering how well I would do during a cache machine almost 9 months preggo! There are some great yurts in Astoria, a possible alternative to hotels.
  8. Would that have been the Bishop Victorian?
  9. Is there any need for liaisons in Kitsap?
  10. While I agree with the comments being made about caching with children, I believe that children will follow your example when finding something of this nature, not just at a cache, but anywhere. For younger children, they only know something is wrong if you react in such a way. Ignore it, or don't make a big deal out of it, and they will follow suit. For older ones, this is an opportunity to educate and discuss. At least these people are protecting themselves. And yes, I do think it wrong to leave things like this in a cache, I am pretty sure that it was NOT a cacher who did so. Probably a muggle that found it.
  11. I am not sure because now there is this new phone! I want to know how it compares. I have used an iPhone for caching before, but two years is a big commitment and I want to make sure I make the right choice
  12. Next month I get an AT&T upgrade. I was planning on the iPhone for the Geocaching features, but now I am not sure. I would love to hear some feedback if anyone has one!
  13. I just wanted to let you know that pictures from GeoBoo 2009 from my camera can be seen on my Cowws Flickr.com account! http://www.flickr.com/photos/cowws/ If you get a chance check it out! I tried to hard to take a pictures of everyone and if you dont see yourself im sorry! one more thing if you are bored check out my personal flickr.com account! http://www.flickr.com/photos/Siasatj/ Thanks everyone!
  14. Good question, I will get back to you on that. I am only the collector, not the turn-in-er. At this point, aluminum cans only. But thanks for the interest!
  15. Good question, I will get back to you on that. I am only the collector, not the turn-in-er.
  16. Bring all of those aluminum cans you have been collecting to Geoboo! There will be a drop off station for those who would like to help us collect cans as a fundraiser for Geowoodstock. We will weigh your cans and the person who brings the most (by weight) will win a new geocoin! Finally, a fundraiser where you don't have to open your wallet, just a beer!
  17. GC14PCJ has a new twist on an old favorite. Right off the highway. Also, the hotel mentioned before is great! (GCM5T2) and Overlooking 101 (GC14PCQ) is a personal favorite. Kite Girl and Friends (GC1PRD9) is right in the center of town. It is a multi, but shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes, and no driving.
  18. It did work! We saw them. Impressive!
  19. "Not sure what a brush picker is -- or why somone would pay to pick brush" Actually, this is valid. People go in and illegally cut greens for flower markets. I have seen it several times around both Sequim and Sunnyslope. They cut salal and rhodies (sp), rubberband them neatly together, and leave them in piles just off the road and hard to see for others to pick them up in the night.
  20. Why not just move them and let everyone find them? What is the big deal about people finding it again? It would be a new location and a new experience. Big deal. Doesn't affect much. And if you say those people would be out for the numbers, that is crap. Personally, I would be out for a new experience.
  21. Re: TB29Z9V We are going to Spokane on July 23-26, but there is no way I can get that far out to retrieve a TB by then. It was much more accessible in town. If it finds its way closer to Bremerton again, we would be happy to get it closer to it's goals.
