  1. yeah my first time was at night. I just found out from my cousin all about it. So poorboy and I set off about midnight. No GPS, only working with clues. It was fun we found two that night. but after that we hit one more and had trouble so I broke down and bought a GPS and never looked back. Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  2. I like seeing all you cachers. I'm glad to see to some of you are close to me. Even as close as Muncie. Well hope to see some of your names in my log books. And let me know if you have any close to me. I'd be glad to find them. Also if you are close and don't have anyone to go caching with. Give me a hollar. I'm always willing to go. lol Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike

  4. I was just wondering who many people go caching at night? That's the only time that my friends and I get to go. I think it's more interesting. If you haven't tried it yet you need to. Good Luck Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  5. I've been geocaching for lil over a year now. I sure as heck not a rich person. (I work for the State) So the most I ever spent was for my magellan Sportrak GPS. Would you believe when i first started out I went without a GPS. I went by the clues. I found a few that way but when i finally broke down and baught a GPS it was so much easier. But that is the only thing I have. I print out a copy of the page. Look at the map of the Area. I have a sweet Map program that came with my computer. But half the fun is getting in the area and driveing down backroads till you get to the right spot. Many of times I've been in tuff spots that if I didn't have Four wheeled Drive I might still be there. But My main thing is never give up. if someone found it before you it's still there. They are just good at hiding. Good Luck Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  6. Well I think I have that beat. I'm Way closer to Muncie than Ft. Wayne or Richmond. Portland is only 30 min. from there. That's where I work. But hey I'm Glad to see there are some that are close. I know I've been to Ft. Wayne and Richmond Caching. So Maybe I hit one of yours. Anyways would like to hear more from you all. 7. Hi How is everyone. I have been a member for awhile and even have started my own group. (RedNeck Tracking Inc.) I was just wondering Who are my fellow Geocachers are. I really Would like to meet Cachers Around Portland, Muncie, East central Indiana. So don't be shy say hi. Big Mike Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  8. If it is a "Wildlife Preserve" There is no kind of hunting (mushroom or animal) allowed in the area. The key word is "Preserve" Meaning to leave it as it is. To keep it Natural. I was a IDNR officer for three years till the gov't closed alot of our parks and thin us out. It taught me alot. But State parks are totally cool with you placeing a Cache there in the state parks. This is not a big deal They just set the Perserves up to help the wildlife. They don't want us humans messing it up for the Beaver.lol My advice is forget about. It was stolen. We all have had one stolen or been to one that has been stolen. It sucks. But hey we learn from our mistakes. Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  9. I don't know about a chapter in Indiana but I started a local groupe here in Portland and looking to expand. We welcome everyone. Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
  10. I'm all for the ladies going. We have a few that come with us. And since I started my club just last Dec. We any been able to do it in the snow. And they do not complain. Some of the guys do that for us. The only time a girl did complain is when she was brought along with her b/f and that was the only one she did. A matter of fact if any single lonely girls want to come with me they are more than welcome. Beavers are a Proud and Noble Animal. Big Mike
