Had that happen to us.... there were 26 or so new caches on a bike trail an 1.5 hours to the north. We held our breath all day long - no logs. So after all 3 of us got out of work we went for the FTFs or so we thought. The placers kid went out after work and got them all and went to bed without even posting a note. Had we known this we would have not made a special trip and pulled an all nighter as the three of us had to work the next day. Boy, were we PISSED! I will log a note on the cache page letting anyone watching it or who looks at the page that the cache was found and I'll log it later. I'm normally 3-6 months behind because of a bad medical condition (severe carpel tunnel) and I log when I feel decent enough to do it. I find it the courteous thing to do and considerate at the same time too. Gas isn't all that cheap. It's a game - no matter what someone will always be upset at how I play. To that I say oh well or if they're really pushing my buttons that day - BITE ME!

Use a FOIA request and get a copy of the incident and the couple that phoned it in. Contact them and thank them for being concerned and at the same time the fact your daughter has a fear of the police as a result of having fun with dad. A someone else pointed out there was no screaming, or the girl looking to be in any danger, your face not on a picture in the post office, etc. If those couple doesn't respond well - write a letter to the editor warning them of predators in the park who turn anyone in to the police who appear to be having fun and/or not living in the surrounding neighborhood. I am all about being concerned but there is a line and it's very fine some times. Sorry you had to go through that.

I guess im confused so you are using the same cart at a new location and it is someone elses cart? is this it? Well, I've developed a cartridge that I would like use a second time (just tweak the zones) for a second Wherigo Geocache across the state. Rather than having to re-code from scratch I was wondering if I do do a "save as", give it a new name, update the coords for the start and zones, and viola. I used to be able to do it with the Groundspeak builder by do all of the above that I just mentioned and then open the .LUA file in notepad and tweak the GUID to be something different. See the thread two years ago that I posted when I learned about how to reuse the cartridge by manually changing the GUID. I think that will give you a good historical background. ARGH! I hate this. I want to add another question here and it forces me to add it to this post. Anyway, here goes: Does anyone know if I can copy "zone commands" with a simple copy / paste between cartridges so I can reuse that code and logic rather than re-doing it? I just want to know if I can do that here in Urwigo.

Yup, Enable the cartridge to be downloadable from the Wherigo site. Download it. You may have to rename it to a .ZIP file. Then go back and stop the cartridge from being downloaded from the Wherigo site. If you need more help let me know. I'll even talk voice.

Can I reuse a cartridge for another location? With the Wherigo Builder I would just open the LUA file and change the GUID so I wouldn't have a conflict on the Wherigo site. What do I do here to ensure that a cartridge for one location doesn't override the same cartridge adopted for another spot?

Master Mariner - you can count me in that group of "code challenged".... if it isn't in the builder I am pretty much stuck without the help of the Wherigo forums. We certainly have some very talented people here for sure and my hat is off to every one of them. You or anyone for that matter are welcome to join. Anyone with ideas is welcome to join.

After all has cooled down I'd sure be interested in hearing what caused them to change their mind. I'm sure the local businesses appreciated the extra revenue and I'd bet they may have supported and voiced their opinions regarding the trail to NDOT.

On the other hand - spilling your cookies is quite acceptable. So, the "five second rule" applies? Or is spilling your cookies what you do when you're very sick? The latter...

.... cuz it's Groundspeak. Fixing the bug would involve work on the Wherigo project. Although Jeremy has said GC isn't stopping the project he certainly hasn't put his money where his mouth is.

I would HIGHLY recommend this cache. To date - one of my personal favorites. Of course - tromping around in the cold (un-prepared since I wore shorts and a t-shirt) at 3am with good friends tends to leave good memories.

I'm all good to go on the array/lua table of zones and a random seem.... NOT! Luckily, if my life depended on coding - I'd be screwed! Regarding the zones within a zone - I was just wondering if I could have a zone automatically and randomly created and moving around within a set of coordinates set a large square (which is actually my plan).

2 thoughts - Anyone have code to randomly turn on and then off again a predefined zone(s) at a random interval? Take the previous question to a higher level - how about at a random interval turning on and then off again a smaller zone(s) within a larger zone predefined zone? That smaller zone is randomly moved around in the larger predefined zone.
