  1. I do have to say that I am proud of Landsharkz on this. They didn't promote themselves on this matter. Much props. I would have to agree with Landsharkz on this. But I also do have to say if you don't know how to do the artwork take the same tip on this as with the minting. I would also give the tip that I got. Less artwork is better for me at least. Some prefer to have more artwork. Look at the coins and see what ones you like. See if they have alot or less artwork. Talk to alot of people and learn what you can to see what you would like. I have learned so much from the people that I have talked to this is a great community. Good Luck.
  2. Very nice idea! We have a 3yo granddaughter who was born legally blind, and she is going through some of the same issues, so we can definitely relate. We'd love to get a couple of these, but we can't pay for them for at least a week. Any chance you could hold one each of the following for us? Black Nickel with Green Light Saber Copper with Purple Light Saber Nickel with Red Glitter Light Saber XLE We can pay for these after the July 4th Holiday. If you can't hold them, no problem Email sent to you. I will hold these coins for you. Thank you very much. Also sent info on the awareness coin I may do here in a few months.
  3. Hello, I just wanted to say that I have some coins left. I am selling them to help out a child with Down Syndrome. The family is ok with Medical and Food and Clothing and such. I am just trying to help with extra things such as Sensory Development. Sensory Development for those who don't know is a set of tools that have been developed to address the sensory motor development needs of those with mental retardation. These tools are designed to be used together to identify sensory areas in which targeted activities may be beneficial for an individual and to provide a resource for such activities. Sensory information is information that comes into the brain from all the senses including vision, hearing, touch, taste, smell and two others that we often don't think about the vestibular, or movement system, and proprioceptive system which gives information from our muscles and joints. The inner ear senses vestibular input. These last two systems tell our brain where our body is in space and what is and is not a part of our body. These Sensory Development programs are not just for children but also adults. Children and Adults that have MR are mostly either Over or Under sensitive. So things like picking up something even if it is small and someone is Under Sensitive will grab the whole object in their hand and squeeze it because they may not feel it. Or say someone is Over Sensitive and even if it is a large object will pick it up with their finger tips. Or if some one is walking on their tippy toes they are over sensitive in their feet or if they stomp they are under sensitive in their feet and need to feel the inpact for their brain. I am selling them for $12 for the first coin and $11 for each additional coin. This will cover the coin and the S/H. What I have left are. Gold with Green Light Saber Copper with Green Light Saber Nickel with Green Light Saber Black Nickel with Green Light Saber Copper wtih Purple Light Saber Gold with Blue Light Saber Nickel with Red Light Saber I also have a few of these left also. These can be purchased with one of the ones above. Black Nickel with Glow in the Dark LE Copper with Purple Glitter Light Saber XLE Nickel with Red Glitter Light Saber XLE Also even if you don't want to buy a coin and would like to learn more about Sensory Development please email me. I will try to help you out if you wish to learn more.
  4. I got a package today. There was no name just an address so I am not sure if this is my 4th of July package or not. I am still waiting on my GeoBirthday package so I don't know what one it is. I got a Bouncy Bunny Geocoin and a Toronto 2006 Geocoin. Thank you very much which ever one it was.
  5. Thank you for the answers and the tips.
  6. I have four of the Swiss Hiking Sticks/Poles not sure what you would call them. I bought two of the red ones they had at Wal-Mart and they were $10 each. Then a few months ago I went back looking for some stuff for caching and found they had 2 blue ones for $15 for the set so I picked up the extra set. I use one and my wife uses the other but we have 2 extra now for when her brother and his girlfriend go with us or if my brothers goes with us. I have not had a prob with them yet.
  7. Yes this is true. Because then some people would be signing on the internet that they found it and never did. I have 2 caches and have not checked but I know for sure the first was found by the FTF person the second one I am not sure about and will be checking here as soon as I get the chance.
  8. I am not sure where to post this but thought I would give a try here. I am thinking about making a Multi-Cache and was wondering if there are rules to a Multi-Cache? Here is what I am wondering? 1) Is there a certain number for caches to place for a Multi-Cache? Least amount I figure is 2 but how high can it go to? 2) Is there a rule to how far apart they are to be? No less than so far apart in feet or miles? No further away than in miles? I was thinking of doing a Tri-State Multi-Cache (it will be within the Ohio Valley no more than 40 miles apart. I have not had a chance to do a Multi-Cache yet so I am not sure how it would work. Only thing I can think of is that you would start with the last cache and then go to the next one and put the coords in that one and so on.
  9. I have been caching since Nov 06 and I have not been stopped by the police yet. I was asked by someone on a trail once. He was a good bit away from me and when I walked up to explain it to him found out he was a guy I worked with about 5 years ago. I explained the sport to him and we talked a bit longer and both went on our ways. Edit to say: After reading this and thinking about it. I think my time will come. Knowing how my luck is.
  10. I just mostly do stuff such as freezer bags if I find the cache starting to get damp or replacing the freezer bag if it get alot of holes or chew marks on them. I once emptied the cache of all swag items and replaced them for the owner since he lived about as far away as I did from the cache. Then found out he had some health issues and on his good days he just wanted to find caches and not really maintain them if could. He was very greatful that I did that for him. I would have replaced the log book but I didn't have any on hand and the one in the cache was not bad. I just feel that if one of my (2 for the time being) caches need something done I would be greatful to whoever would help me out with mine. So I should do my part to help another cache owner if theirs needs something done to it. Out of everyone I have ever talked to I feel that about 90-95% of all the cachers are very nice and helpful, so kinda like good friends that you have not met, and I would always help a friend in need any way I can.
  11. I leave some of the hotwheels that I use to collect. I also leave small cheap items, movies (these are from my aunt and she gets them for free they all say property of and to call a 800 # if you purchased or rented. since it is a free gift I leave them. no probs with that.), first aid kits, hand sanitizer, homemade swag items such as wooden nickels - poker chips - ect. Whatever I can find to buy that I would want or a kid may want. My second cache I hid had stuff in it that you would use for travel for bathroom items. Such as bottles for shampoo, hand soap, TP, hand sanitizer, toothbrush cases. The cache I hid was near a Water Waste Plant and called it All Things Must Pass. I just did it related to the cache I was hiding. I have another cache in mind to hide just got to find the right place and stuff to put into it.
  12. This is the closest forum I can find for my question. I requested one of these bugs when it was posted on the site. I just got it in the mail a few months later (I don't know if it got lost in the mail or what). Can I still activated and release it or do I have to send it back? I am not sure how these ones work.
  13. I am starting to think we were all ripped off. I emailed the guy a week ago and he said the coins were shipped I said thank you for the update. Now another week goes by and no coins. I don't know what to think now.
  14. If you can Drill Away. Drilled with no problems Thank you.
  15. As far as with the kinda travelers you are talking about geocaching.com does not have any for this but there is anothe site that does this. I am going to email you the site address because I don't know how Groundspeak feels about the site. Also they are not listed on the geocaching site but used on another one and they don't show up on geocaching.com. They will show on this site what cache they are in for geocaching.com. There is also Sigitem.com you can use. They only prob with sigitem.com is they are for either travelers or keep. They person that finds them has the choice of what to do with them. And with the other site the same thing may happen. Also the ones on the other site don't move as fast as if you bought a geocoin or travelbug.
  16. Got your 5 racers and the prize coin. Thank you very much I can drill your coins as well. They are uploaded to the website. We have 26 racers now. 24 days until the green flag flies If you can Drill Away.
