I've got a really neat spot I want to hide a cache. I want to see if there has ever been a cache hidden there before, and if so why has it been archived? Is there any way to do this? Thanks

We tend to be more "nonchalant". We find that we get less stares if we talk like we have a reason for being there - almost like we're looking for something we may have dropped. If it seems that some one is overly interested in looking at us, trying to figure out what it is that we're up to, we find a PDA (Public Display of Affection) tends to deflect attention!

In the Maritimes a popular FTF prize is "A Tim's on me." (Meaning a Tim Horton's dollar to buy a coffee) I'd like to encourage everyone to think about what they place in a cache by watching "The Story of Stuff" www.storyofstuff.com It'll make you think twice about what's appropriate swag...I'm certainly thinking about it a lot more now.

For the purposes you are describing, I'd put some really nice lures or flies in. Perhaps a unique one you've created - almost a signature item.
