I gather archived caches are not included in PQ, so if I download a PQ and at some stage cache gets archived how can I get my offline database updated to remove it. I gather this was a feature which maybe implemented in the future.. is it time to implement it yet? I spent quite a bit of time looking for a cache which when I returned home I found it was archive.. very frustrating..

I guess you are referring to the Weekly email from Groundspeak, I was referring to the Instanotify function which limits to 80km .

The seems to be a unreasonable limit on distance for the notification for Event caches (actually all) , could we have a a more broader rule for this ? this should have virtually no-limit or based on boarders perhaps .. or certainly something like 300+ km would be a limit that would work?

is there any way to set the back light default ie if I turn on can it always be set at a certain level?

So back to square 1... if the Image links are in GPX then I could put get a GSAK macro to dwonload images for caches I'm about to visit.. Or if that promotes abuse then perhaps they could add a download images link next to the GPX button.

I have a few mystery caches with Images/pictures I need to take into the field to find cache. As these are more than one picture it would be handy to have these links included in PQ or GPX file so I can download these into PPC. in one Cache there are about 30 images and a bit of a pain to manually download . ie we are talking about more than one image, but its a bit frustrating these images are ripped out of the GPX file so its hard to figure out the cache offline if these are missing.

I haven't tried it , can you use MapSource to create a GPX file of your route?

I'm not sure I'd pay $10K, but a more open API would possibly mean less pressure or upgrade the site and allow users more freedom to provide the data they want.

Why hasn't the new cache notification got "owners" name in details or subject? The listing has the Publisher for some reason but not the owner? I would have thought the owners name would be more important, not that I think our publishers aren't important too, but the Owner surely should be listed in the notify. thanks

How do are we expect to create off line images for the field if downloading of puzzle images isn't allowed to automated. I have one cache with 30 images.

Is this waiting on V2 or is this still on the TODO list?

Can I get permission to download cache images for offline use? since PQ doesn't contain any links or images, I can't see any other reasonable way of doing this.

Not sure if this has been addressed any where else or if anyone has an automated solution. From time to time there are mystery caches or mult caches which require you to match images of a location. It would be neat if I could automate the downloading of the cache pictures just of the cache owners , so I could export them into PDA for in-the-field viewing. Otherwise the latest one has about 30 or so which is a bit tedious to download and save etc.. Even if the PQ just contained a URL to the images I'm sure a macro could download them remotely. Any solutions for this/ particularly for GSAK users. thanks

If you see pictures published by a cacher you can move non-intutively from next to previous by way of hidden tables which light up during mouse over, but the same capability doesnt exist for the "cache owners" pictures. ie if the cache owner uploads more than 1 picture you have to close picture and then open next can we have the same Next/Previous buttons for these pictures as well? here is an example of both see there a two pictures of the Cache site and further down you can see someone has also uploaded others too.

Just wondering if there is any intend to add the cache attributes icons to the GPX file or PQ files. eg Night time or kid friendly etc.

Garmin has a few on their webpages for the various models of the eTrex line. I think all of the C, Cx, and HCx models have the same basic screens. Also search the forum here. I've seen lots of screen shots people have posted. It's been my experience that the models with the little joystick (ClikStik) are much easier to navigate around the many pages they have. Rather than having to scroll up and down on a character space like the yellow eTrex, you get a grid of letters and numbers that you navigate around using the joystick. With a little practice, it get's fairly easy to enter in custom waypoints. Of course, entering them in on the computer then uploading them is even easier. I think all the color screen eTrex models have the geocaching mode. The little treasure chest icon (with lid closed) is reserved for geocaches, and when you find one, you have the option of a "Found" button, it makes a calendar entry, and then locks in on the next nearest geocache. It also changes the closed chest to the open chest icon. StarDoc thanks for that, I assume the "ClikStik" is fairly durable, and one other thing that annoyed me is with the map-mode can you scroll around the map or browse it?

Is there anywhere you can see any screenshots of the HCx screens eg entering Waypoints and marking and searching for waypoints etc.. I have a yellow etrex and its a bit tedious to create and goto a new waypoint so just want to know if the newer models are easier etc..

I would be good if you could put mutiple addresses there so I didn't have to create two notifications 1 for work email and 1 for home email Can you put email1,email2?

I think this would be even simpler to do on the client side with a small few lines of Javascript surely.. why hasn't this been suggested before?

I think this must be a bug or something which has been overlooked, and quiet frankly annoying.. when I log I always have to set date forward one day. Can you honour our Timezone set in my profile ? or set default date as current local date? of browser or my timezone...
