  1. I can see if they were out from 0 - 200 yards or so, but 4 km (2.5 miles)! I think that is excessive and makes these maps generally useless. I guess there is no way to shift the map to match the gps position (would likely make something else out)?
  2. 5) Trout - school 8) Squirrels - nest 10) Bees - Hive I looked it up after on this site (http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/about/faqs/animals/names.htm), I only got 33% (you can't argue with the US Geological Survey). I really like the shiver of sharks - they give me the shiver too while diving!

  4. I just received an Explorist 500 and tested it out. I live in Manitoba Canada, and the nearest hwy on the base map was Hwy 59. When I was on the highway, my GPS showed that I was 4 kms east of it and the GPS showed accuracy of under 10 metres! I found one cache already and the GPS put me within 4 yards so it's not the accuracy of the GPS. Is there anyway to calibrate the base map or is the base map just off by 4 kms in some places? Has anyone else had this trouble with the Canada part of the base map (it is very sketchy)? I could not rely on this map when hunting or camping.
  5. I'll be travelling down in the states in two weeks so I'll see if my base map is accurate there. If not i guess I'll have to try the support at Magellan.
  6. What are your experiences with the highways in the US base map. Are they accurate?
  7. I use one and I love it. The geocache manager works pretty well. If you're buying new, you might want to review the complaints about the customer service. I have none myself yet, but I've seen a number on this site.
