  1. Same problem here. I changed GPX version to 1.0.1, dstill doesn't work in either explorer or firefox. bummer. hope they fix it soon.
  2. Yeah, I hear you. I just grabbed mine after almost a year, and several unanswered e-mails to release the copy. What gets me is, the guy has bugs of his own! Go figure.
  3. Depends on the conditions. Best I've received with my Magellan Explorist 500 is 2 meters. I usually give about 10 meters or so leeway when looking for a cache though. You never know what GPS was used & the conditions when it was marked.
  4. Could be 5 minutes, could be 30. All of a sudden, my mind goes...."this is stupid". Then that's it.
  5. Personally, I have used, and found, alot of, film canisters wrapped in cammo tape. Alternately, magnetic key holders. Either of these, depending on location, work very well. Dollarramma sells magnetic holders 3 for a buck. I'd glue the magnets in again using hot glue or epoxy though.
  6. Yeah I hear ya. Some guy has had one of mine since last November. despite several polite e-mails (no response) it still remains in his possession. I can't figure it out, this guy caches, has one of his own, has 2 of his own geo coins, and yet still hangs on to it. Weird!
  7. Many times I have grabbed a TB while on a road trip and get it some miles. Low and behold, the next time I get on the internet, I find I have taken the TB in the wrong direction of it's goal. I understand what you're saying, but personally, I don't feel there is a "wrong" direction. Who knows who will find it next? Will it be someone who travels by air alot & can get it on it's way, or someone who just hangs out locally & will only move it a short way? It's a crap shoot. One direction is as good as another as long as it moves, regardless of how far, because there will be someone different at the drop to move it on it's way in their particular fashion. At least that's how I feel.
  8. [i go to a cache specifically to pick up a TB and it's not there, not logged, MIA. I feel the same way. There should be a way (perhaps there is?) for the cache owner to check things out & remove the bug from the cache inventory if it is no longer there & put it in a central MIA file or something. That way the cache doesn't show the bug, and if it does surface at some point, the database will relink it to an active status. The MIA file could be the "graveyard" of former active bugs until refound. Just a thought. As for my own bugs, I purchased one, attached it to a nice object, but am waiting for spring to pick a suitable location for my own first placed cache. It will be like a child leaving home...........(sob)
  9. . Once I received a 10 minute tongue-lashing by another fisherman who said (among other things) that I had 'cast a shadow' on the river that ruined his entire day. I merely wanted to introduce myself and exchange some knowledge about our shared passion. That's a shame, but there are people like that all over...you know....morons. Despite the occasional moron, most people are great I find. I wouldn't hesitate to introduce myself to someone who is obviously doing the same thing.
