  1. hmmm looks like they might have bumped it to next week according to their webpage.
  2. Look to the bottom of the page. Caches you have found and caches you have hidden will automatically move to the bottom of the page.
  3. I love the idea of the seeds. I've wondered how to do something like this too. Maybe inside those small containers for water sports to keep personal possessions dry. I wonder if condensation would form on the inside of those?
  4. The Mothman Returns (GC11BD) is located at the site where the mothman was first spotted in 1966. I haven't seen the movie yet but from what I've heard of it I think I'd be scared to check that one out.

  6. I believe this is the cache that Briansnat is thinking of GC4FE7, and it has grown quite nicely to an ammo can and even contains a couple of TB's right now.
  7. Gary.... excellent letter... voiced my sentiments exactly but much better than I could have, had I lived in PA ;-)
  8. Moun10bike...sheesh... what's a gal to do?...Markwell must be rubbing off on me ;-) They asked for people to speak up...rather than get that whole thing going again I was hoping to avoid it...ya know...been there done that ;-) It didn't get me the first time around...now after seeing the problems with it I like it even less. As much as the failures suck I think we should admit when they happen ;-)...heheh especially when we weren't in on them in the first place.

  10. I love Myst and Riven too... really my only computer game addictions when you take away solitaire...duh... I wrote in the other thread if I can sway my family that way when we're in NM in August I will give it my all...but I'd also appreciate any other incentives that I can give them so if more clues are given please feed em on this way and I'll have a better chance

  12. I'd love to see what comes of this too. I will be in NM in August but unfortunately in the northern section... I'll see what I can do to reroute us but I'm not too hopefull. I'll be watching though.
  13. Here is a thread where it was discussed a bit back...seems like that's when alot of it caught on. http://opentopic.Groundspeak.com/0/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=1750973553&f=8080979883&m=6330931983

  15. I'm with Brian here for sure... don't speak too quickly before you lose some of the best points of the game. A theme cache is great but you can't expect it to stay that way... if you are counting on that you might as well quit now. Cachers like the one you seem to be referring to are who we can thank for the spread of the game enough for us all to be able to take part (in both the hiding and seeking) He's the best... don't knock till you know ooops...and he's a celebrity in more than NJ ;-)

  17. Great idea for the little guys .... so does your toe still have marker stains on it? ;-)

  19. 2dolphins... I agree.. I really kind of gave up looking at the top 10 travel bugs awhile ago when the personal bug thing started catching on, it's pretty useless now. I don't really understand the added benefit of a personal bug either with the maps the way they are.... unless you really travel far everything just kind of sits in a lump on top of itself... but the miles add so I guess that's what people are looking for....I dunno.

  21. lab...basically that's the hope. Any cache can go missing if found by noncachers, hungry varmits or inclemet weather (depending on what they're hidden in) If the cache had been removed by the owner the hope is that they would archive the cache, if the cache was found to be in disrepair occasionally it will be inactivated... but if the cache details read clear sailing... no recent logs foretold of natural/unnatural disasters... the cache should logistically be there.... BUT!!! Here's where you get to tell your story... did you find anything? anything that sounded like where it should be? All those kinds of details will help the hider decide if it's time to go back and check the status of their cache... and then we can also hope that the cacher is still caching. Since this cache was hidden in the winter months it's difficulty level for hiding places is probably underrated right now... with all the folliage out your at a disadvantage... just keep that in mind while hunting. Your best bet would probably be to email the owner. Good Luck
  22. There are a bunch of them out there. I have placed Gilbert's Stash a traveling cache. If you plug Traveling into the keyword cache search you will come up with a bunch more.
  23. Stargazer21... that's a great idea! I was a vet tech for 12 years... I'd come looking for your coupons if you were a wee bit closer ;-) Shannon you've got some great ideas too... I'd go for most of that stuff too. I have about as much fun shopping for cache goodies as I do finding them. Dteec maybe that's the ticket. Have her go shopping for cacheables so that she gets into it a bit more and shows you and the local cachers the kinds of stuff she'd like to find.
