I have a lot of coins out in caches and I know sometimes they will go missing. Coins get lost, caches get muggled - stuff happens. When a coin has not been moving for over a month I e-mail the holder, or the finders of a cache that the coin was placed in and ask about the coin. I usually get some kind of reply. My Serenity geocoin has been being held hostage since 11/14/06. I have sent the "coin-napper" several polite e-mails inquiring about the status of the coin. I ask that if the coin is missing let me know so I can mark it as such. I do this about every other month and have yet to get a responce. This is an active geocacher who has found over 1300 caches and has been caching since 2003. When I looked at the other trackables that he has logged I noticed he doesn't own any trackables and that of the trackables that he has logged he has been holding 8 other geocoins, 2 green jeeps and 2 TB's hostage as well . What really kills me is that he lives relatively close to me - just the next state over and has found one of my caches when he was in town visiting relatives............................ You would hope that you would at least answer the e-mail of someone you may meet at an event some day, even is the answer is that the coin is lost!! Is there any recourse here?

I have a MWGB duck. I didn't "pre-trade" since I don't collect coins and had no real use for lots of other ducks. I "cache and release" all of my geocoins. I was going to give my duckies to people I met at MWGB and use the others as extras in trades or to drop in caches. I am willing to do a multiple duck trade, with either more than one of my duck or my duck and the secret duck and/or mallard duck that I received for any trackable coin. The other option I can offer is that I soon should have some geojellies and I could trade a jelly and a duck for a trackable geocoin. Drop me an e-mail if interested. Thanks - Robin

I had e-mailed them through paypal on June 12th and never did hear anything back. Since they have posted that they have some issues going on right now I will just sit and wait........................ I would have traded 2 for coins that I don't have and released those and released the third anyway. Either way, it's all a matter of faith, hoping to get the coins in the mail or hoping that the ones I release stay traveling . I did just have one of my lost travelers turn up after 9 months of being lost (gone missing from a cache, never logged and assumed muggled). I would hope this situation doesn't take 9 months to resolve it's self, but sometimes life doesn't run exactly to schedule.

The message that I got from E-bay stated that my auctions where pulled because it said "All proceeds from this coin sale will be given to Team Donutdog". Kind of frustrating, not knowing exactly what I could or couldn't put in my listing. Except for the coin information, they where listed exactly the same as the Dorkfish auction. But that one is still up and running .......... I am not at home, so I can't relist them right now. When they pull your auction you don't even have access to the old listing if you would just want to change a few words, so I have to be able to get home to my computer so I can start from scratch. I will post again when I am able to get them back up.

OK, I work nights so this could be considered my morning???? Acutally my plans for the morning where changed when I got home and found no horses in the pasture. Someone had opened the gate on the backside of the pasture and didn't close it. I was really worried about it, especially since one of the horses is a young stallion. I could just picture him breeding every mare in the county by the time I caught him!!! Luckily they went directly over the hill about 1 1/2 miles to a horseless neighbor who penned them up. As far as I know they didn't stop to visit any mares along the way - I have not gotten any phone calls yet anyway! So sorry for the delay!!!! Some of them just got in the mail yesterday. I had a bag of packaged coins to be mailed out sitting on my table by the door to take to the post office on my way to MWGB (I had left my house the Tuesday before and went down with friends) - they where still sitting there waiting for me when I got home yesterday. What was I thinking, making a geocoin, moving (with my 3 kids, 2 horses, 2 potbelly pigs, chinchilla, hedgehog, dog and cats) all in the same month as our county fair and my oldest child getting her drivers licence (of course she needs a car).
