  1. I have 14 CITO trash bags leftover from many years ago. They are smaller than the yellow trash CITO bags on the Groundspeak store these days - maybe half the size. Would be perfect for smaller CITOs or smaller people. White with CITO, GC and Magellan logos and with drawstrings. If you are near 22305 I can deliver them. Or if you travel through the area you can pick up. I am right off 395 near Shirlington (between Quaker Lane and Glebe Road). Please reply or shoot me an email. mcdefjef
  2. Me too. Sometimes I refer to it as guppy.
  3. If you have OUTLOOK, create a contact with the proper address, then open it and choose Actions...Display map of address. You'll get an MSN map and you can get the lat & long coords from the URL.
  4. I've got a loc file with waypionts for the DC metro stops. Email me and I can send if interested.
  5. It works best for me & my 2 yr old if we bring the jogging stroller and go to a cache /park with a playground. I would just plan on 1 cache at a time.
  6. I've got a *.loc file of all DC metro stops in case you (or anyone else) wants it...
  7. Burke has the caches, but no mountains.
  8. he was probably talking about this: http://www.gpsinformation.org/dale/secret.htm
  9. I would like to trade my original copy of Mapsource US Metroguide (mapsource ver 4.02, metroguide data is ver 3.0 © 2001) for your original copy of Mapsource US topo. (The mapsource program can be updated to ver 5.4 online.) Your topo software should be a semi-recent version and in good shape (no major scratches). Also, I'd prefer someone who has a history of posting on this board or has more than a few finds or a good Ebay rating. Please email me.

  11. Again, yes you can upload maps and waypoints from PC to Rino 120. A new Rino 120 comes with a cable. EasyGPS is free and works great for transferring waypoints. To upload maps, you will need a copy of one of the various Mapsource maps (~$85 US). Mapsource tutorial: http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapsourceTutorial.html You can look/demo the various mapsource map offerings here (see mapsource viewer in upper right): http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ You can get the manual and other info for the Rino 120 here: http://www.garmin.com/products/rino120/
  12. That sounds like a reason to finally try cachemate. I've been putting it off as I'm pretty happy with the spinner/plucker combo.
  13. Is this still only available for pocketPC? Can us PALM users do this? I'm jealous.
  14. The NALGENE containers pictured by BrianSnat also come in 32 oz (1 qt) size. Saw some green-tinted ones at Hudson Trail Outfitters for $6.50 here in VA.
  15. Thanks! The "<" in the ascii art was the problem and easily solved with the "<". FYI: whenever I go back to edit the description, the "<" reverts to the < so I have to change it back each time I edit.
  16. I am trying to edit a cache listing to include this: __________________________ BIKE TRAIL ____ __o CACHE ---__ _ \<_ __/ ____________________(_)/(_)______________[??]__ and it gets corrupted and only shows this: __________________________ BIKE TRAIL ____ __o CACHE ---__ _ \ In this post, I am using {code} tags instead of the <pre> tags, because they don't seem to work in the forums. Shouldn't <pre> and </pre> work in the cache listings??
  17. Try editing this file to remove the log section: \GPX Spinner\templates\cache.htm But first keep a copy of the original file in case you goof it up. Lots more help here: http://www.gpxspinner.com/help/variables_how_to.htm
  18. Is a note to a reviewer requesting to hold off on approval really necessary when you can leave the "the cache is active" checkbox unchecked until it is in place?
  19. This reminds me that I need to check on my "experiment." I leave concerts of trade-friendly bands on CD (100% legal, see www.etree.org) in caches. Last year I placed a couple of these outside on my property with varying degrees of protection from the elements - from ziplocs inside gladware to just a paper sleeve on the ground. They've seen 2 ft of snow, hurricane Isabel and summer heat. Its been 11 months, so I need to check on their condition(s) and see if they play.
  20. I'm in. How about Lake Accotink? There are already about 7 caches in the park. Picnic tables, shelter (I think), playground, etc.
  21. Did a search, but couldn't find any relevant topics. My Garmin Rino 120 takes about 25 minutes to get 7.5 Mb of maps from mapsource. Baud Rate is set at max (115200) on COM1. Is this download time about right? Can I speed it up any??
