  1. Good Lord! I found the problem. I have NO idea how it happened by somehow noreply@geocaching.com make its way into our blocked mail filter.... What the heck???? All better now!
  2. Ok, so I created a Gmail account and entered the settings area. I am having all e-mail forwarded to my Hotmail only there's one problem. It isn't forwarding. Is there some trick to this? Side note. I sent an e-mail from my Yahoo account to Gmail and it fowarded right away to Hotmail but the same is not true for geocaching.com mail. It is not being recieved as a foward from Gmail. HELP!
  3. All of a sudden we aren't getting any Geocaching mail via our Hotmail account either and we have no idea why. This is very strange since we have used Hotmail for our Geocaching mail for 6 years without any problems until now.
  4. I have a hunch it's a Hotmail issue. Reran it and had it sent to my Yahoo account and it arrived in a flash!
  5. Anyone having trouble getting their PQs tonight? I put in for two several hours ago. The site says they have run but they sure aren't in my mailbox! All my other mail is getting through, just no PQs!!
  6. Hi redjada - we're wondering what you meant by this statement in your initial rant. It sounds like you are trying to say that 15 other caches of ours are soaked. I took a look at your cache finds and noticed that out of your whopping 80 finds, you found 5 of our caches, 2 of which you mention are soaked, the other three you say the caches are in good shape. What do you mean about 15 finds out of 50 by this owner? And 10 of those were just soaked and in bad shape? Huh??? Yes we do have 189 hides, but gee, not all of them are still active. I'm sure nothing we can say will make you happy, but we are responsible cache owners. Yes, from time to time a cache sits in need of maintenance for a bit, but we do fix all of our caches up eventually. We always wait until at least two DNFs or Wet Log posts to check on things because in our six years of caching we have learned that one person's idea of "soaked" is another's "damp".
  7. Same here. Requested 3 queries and got one.... and not the two we needed most! Given that it is every e-mail provider out there and an incredible number of ISPs involved it is unlikely that it is the fault of either of these two entities. It has to be a Groundspeak issue. It would be very helpful if a rep of Groundspeak could give us some insight on the problem!
  8. I have my e-mail set to send a copy of my e-mail back to me. I haven't received any today at all. I've sent quite a few e-mails to folks attending our upcoming event. I hope they are getting them since I'm not getting the copies!!
  9. The event is coming up fast but there are still a few coins left! Don't miss out!
  10. Oh good grief! Never mind! I figured out that my old Greasemonkey settings either didn't work with the new version of Greasemonkey or they didn't work with the new geocaching.com format. I have no idea which was the case but at least Geocaching.com is now viewable!!!
  11. I have a really odd problem right now and thought maybe one of you might have some insight. I use FireFox on 2 of my computers to surf the net and access Geocaching.com. One computer is working fine. When I click into Geocaching.com on the other while using FireFox the site comes up for about 4 seconds and then goes to a Geocaching.com error screen that says "You requested has resulted in an error. You may choose to retry your previous request". I can't figure out why just that one computer is doing this. Any of you FireFox users have any ideas?? Oh, as a side note, on the computer that is having the problem with FireFox, Geocaching.com comes up fine in IE. Further, I can get into the forums just fine using either computer!!

  15. Each year for 5 years now, together with Finding Fraggle Rock, we put on what we like to call a Grand Caching Event. Each year, the theme and game are completely different. This year we had to cut off our registration at 300 since we were going to overflow our venue. Somehow, 308 showed up and divided up into 70 teams, coming from 9 different states and also many from Ontario, Canada to the Cleveland, Ohio area on a day that was threatening thunderstorms. Now that it is over we can say that it was loosely based on the movie Dude, Where's My Car? with a Mexican twist to add flavor. The contestants viewed a slide show of Chico and Paco visiting a mall in America and returning to the parking lot to find their Chevy missing. The job of the cachers was to seek out geocaches (some with puzzles), and other pertinent words spread throughout a three suburb area, plug the words into their answer sheet and then complete an acrostic puzzle to reveal the message to lead them to Chico and Paco's car. After the mexican supper provided by Chef Damon, prizes were awarded for winners, raffle prizes including 4 GPSrs, geocoins, shirts hats, etc. were given out, and a special raffle prize of a Magellan 400 GPSr for anyone that ate a jalapeno pepper during the competition was also given out. Judging from the posts on the cache page GC12FP7, and the many thanks we received after the event, we think we again achieved our goal of providing a fun time, creative theme, and competitive atmosphere for all that attended. Over the years, attendees have taken to dress for the appropriate theme. Two years ago, at Alien Encounter, there were many space and alien flavored costumes. Last year, for Fragglestock, many more dressed as hippies and even decorated their cars and vans appropriately. This year, we had Aztecs, Mexicans and even Border Patrol police. We've already started planning next year's event - Mardi Gras: Cachers Gone Wild! It's going to be the craziest event yet! We sold out of our Black Nickel coins at the event and have only 25 shiny copper left, so if you want one, act now, or they may be gone soon.
  16. For those who are interested we still have a few black nickel coins left. Shiney copper are also still available. We do take PayPal now!
  17. Black nickel is going fast! For that matter the copper is moving well too! Looking forward to hearing from some of you! Why not come to the event too?? It'll be a BLAST! Happy caching!
  18. Wow! After reading all the posts from those who would prefer PayPal we decided to look into it. There IS a charge for selling items on PayPal, though the percentage is not extraordinarily high. A fellow cacher has suggested that we simply add that into the price of shipping as "shipping and handling" and we should be ok. So, we have decided to do that. If you would like to pay by PayPal, please let us know when you e-mail us your order. We will send you a PayPal invoice with your total, and well, the rest is easy. Thanks to all of you for encouraging us to use this method of payment. Answering another question in the thread, the coins are oblong in shape and are 2 inches wide by 1.25 inches high.

  20. Geochums Coins Are Here! Geochums is a geocaching community that began in Norteast Ohio but has spread its wings and welcomes folks from all over the globe. To celebrate the idea that geocachers are "chums" where ever they go we desiged these unique coins after the Mizpah. Each half has the GC tracking number engraved on it and is held to it's partner magnetically. This way you can give one half to a Chum and keep the other! Or you can keep both halves for yourself! The choice is yours. 22. We produced the Fragglestock Event coin along with Finding Fraggle Rock. It was sold before and at the event but is now completely sold out. Only 400 were minted and of that only 380 are in the hands of cachers. The remaining 20 are being held by us and Finding Fraggle Rock. You may be able to find someone to trade for one of the coins they purchased. Good luck and happy trading!
