There were 200 Moun10Bike V1 coins made...
Odyssey Voyager replied to Six Little Spookies's topic in Trackables
so there is one lost in the mountains of Washington?! hey, imagine that! i real lost treasure! -
WOW! awesome collection! i can vouch for the condition of these geocoins. i have adopted several very hard to find "old school" geocoins from "sweetlife" and they are always in "mint" or "nearly new" condition. i can tell that these geocoins have been very well taken care of.

thank you Gatoulis, i am so glad that one of these geocoins finally made it to Greece! as for the colors in the video, well, actually i had a little trouble with lighting while i was taking the pictures and so the colors are a little "off". i tried to correct them as best i could. i guess it would help if i had a better camera too...lol...but who can afford a camera when there are so many nice geocoins out there, right?!
-
and there may be other hidden fee's associated with creating, minting, and selling a geocoin, too. i just hope some online buyers will read this thread and realize why a large, special shaped, hefty, trackable geocoin with an icon, can cost a bit more than a small round micro.

its a classic greek story...a love triangle with a tragically sad ending. i now present for your viewing and listening pleasure...the epic saga of...THE PAINTED TROJAN HORSES The Painted Trojan Horses Video

i was under the impression that the required "minimum" order numbers had changed as of March 2009. check out the following pinned thread, and scroll down to the latest entry. i believe many manufacturers will produce a geocoin run of 50 or 100 minimum now. i hope this information helps. if i can "break even" on this project (which is not as easy these days), i will offer the remaining stock as a trade item and for a set lower "buy it now" price. only time, and the economy, will determine when that might happen. this has been a rough year for producing geocoins. i am considering trade offers on the satin gold (achilles) and satin silver (hector) trojan horse editions. check my trade seeking list below, thanks. tracking all 200 pieces would make a great geocaching documentary adventure! although, finding the holy grail may be more easily accomplished. -
as with most geocoins, pictures simply cannot capture the experience of holding a hefty coin in your hand and watching the sunlight reflect off of all its intricate surfaces, but i'll do my best!
-
yes, the same icon and name as the original editions. i was thinking about a new icon, but it simply wasn't practical within my budget. i have no idea how some coiners can afford to create and fund so many awesome new projects. kudos to them! i wish i had the means to create new designs. however, i will be putting a new video together soon for the ebay listing, so my creative juices will flow into that project for now...lol...starving artists always seem to find a way to express themselves!

well, if you do a search on ebay for "trojan horse geocoin" and then choose to "save this search", ebay will automatically send you an email notice of all new posted listings. this option is probably the easiest and most efficient. thanks for the interest in this geocoin.

just in time for christmas, coming soon to an ebay auction near you...the 2009 OVG Painted Trojan Horses! due to my meager budget, i was only able to have very few of these produced for now, so i'm afraid i will have to auction them to the highest ebay bidders. i hope those interested will bid, and please keep in mind that i may also offer them as "second chance" items to second and third highest bidders, so don't be discouraged if you don't have the highest winning bid! pirate treasure geocoin activation...
Odyssey Voyager replied to Odyssey Voyager's topic in Trackables
no help from geocaching.com, they say i need to contact the original coin owners or producers. i will also try to contact Groundspeak.com as suggested earlier by a forum memeber. i didn't realize these were different entities. any other suggestions from the forum? -
i just love a happy ending!

What a marvelous thing you have here!
Odyssey Voyager replied to Colonel H. George Cachington's topic in Trackables
if the colonel issues a Royal Decree i have no choice but to agree and agree i do that this thread is quite funny it made me laugh like bees make honey -
has anyone been able to "back track" the trail of a possibly stolen geocoin to the source?! just curious. seems like a job for the CSI Groundspeak Team!

and if they replace your umbrella with a picture of an umbrella, they are being rude and psychotic!

just some friendly advice for next year...the cute guy in this photo is really 50 years old and has been trading geocoins since 1999! BEWARE...he tries to disguise himself with face paint!
-
there are some real unstable psychos out there. i actually once had someone write in a logbook that they took my activated geocoin. they never grabbed the geocoin or recorded a discovery and they never replied to my emails or notes on their own travel bug page. can you believe that?! these stories never cease to amaze me...and...they live among us!

Fake geocoins on ebay, what exactly do you call them?
Odyssey Voyager replied to Renegade Knight's topic in Trackables

i sure would like to see a picture collection.
