  1. i had the same problem with a recent oakcoins geocoin. i emailed them with the tracking code and they emailed a reply with the activation code a few days later.
  2. oops...sure enough, someone had the same picks as mine posted earlier. let me try these 3: 1. Jeff Gordon 2. Kyle Busch 3. Tony Stewart
  3. 1. Jimmie Johnson 2. Jeff Gordon 3. Juan Pablo Montoya
  4. great story, gatoulis!
  5. i found out today while searching for interesting facts that the Netherlands born painter Rembrandt, was not only one of the most famous painters of the 17th century, he was also regarded by many to be the best metal etcher of all time! as an etcher, Rembrandt must have loved working with copper metal as a way of expressing his creative genuis. i have no doubt that had Rembrandt been alive today, he would also have an appreciation for these great little metal collectibles we call "geocoins", and he might have even etched his own geocoin design for all to see and enjoy! one of Rembrandts self portrait etchings
  6. thanks to everyone involved, GS sent me the activation code i needed. i look forward to seeing a central location for all activation codes in the future. a great idea and a much needed tool.

  8. I don't know about "Fun" but Kachin comes from our last name "Cashion" (sounds the same). We also use it as the name of the guild that my parents, brother, daughters, and myself have on World of Warcraft. you have the perfect last name for geocaching! or "geocashion" as you all probably call it.
  9. From A&E Toys. I retrieved the codes in late January after receiving the coins, when the website was still online. thanks again. i was hoping to get an email address of the person that still has the codes. oh well,...the search continues...
  10. I have eight Pirate Treasure Geocoins in my collection. They are still not activated, but I got the activation codes - they all are differently. hmmm...that was what i thought. oh well, thank you for your reply anyway. those of us with no activation codes will have to keep searching. by the way, where did you get your activation codes from?
  11. i'm not very good with creating icons either, but since they are so small, much detail gets lost in resizing. i was thinking maybe someone could use the the letters "KK" with the same letter font to make something nice and easily seen. PPG, can you share any fun facts about the Kachin' Klan that might inspire an icon design?
  12. once again, if used properly, translation sites can be quite effective and useful. i have used this website tool to translate various foreign geocaching websites into English and i get very good results. however, it is true that some translation websites are better than others. i will agree with that. keep in mind, that its just an option that is available for you to use, or not to use, but it is an option none-the-less. good luck!
  13. hi, what will be the official name of the geocoin? that might help with icon ideas.
  14. that is a possibility, a small possibility, but perhaps someone who has already activated their coin and saved the activation code, could post the code here for others to try.
  15. yes, according to the mint company, all items are sent overnight via FedEx, and the cost for shipping this can run from $75 to $100. so, the metal dies DO belong to you, but the additional cost is ONLY for express shipping (usually from China) which can be rather expensive for such heavy metal. i don't think they will ship the items a less expensive way, but you can ask, and i was told the factory sends ALL the pieces of the die, even if you don't need or want them all. the reason for this may be to avoid delays or errors caused in translating complicated instructions.
  16. you can try contacting the designers, geocachers: "cinemaboxers"... Cinemaboxers Profile Page
  17. this is a great translation site and easy to use: Multi Language Translation Site i have found that short concise sentences will better convey your message. it sure does come in handy for me, add it to your favorites!
  18. hiya pm me your address and ill give you a geocoin. that is way cool! kudos to pagafrog and methospedia!
  19. the now retired "Code 3" geocoin dies arrived this week. i decided to wait and have the dies shipped with my newest geocoins, and this saved a little on shipping costs, plus everything arrived at the same time. now, i'm going to see about having them machined down, buffed, polished, and a decorative plating applied before mounting onto a wood plaque. i'll get estimates for all that next week.
  20. I'd email GS again. I had no problem getting mine from them. I didn't have 50 coins though. i emailed Groundspeak.com and Geocaching.com and was denied both times! i wonder why GS will provide the activation codes to some, but not to others? does it depend on who you know? or... ?
  21. wow! you got a fantastic deal on the minting (cost of the metal used?). the rising price of metal has caused this price to double, or at least thats what some companies are quoting these days. this may also be the only area that is subject to "mark up".
  22. J. Sparrow, so where did you find the activation code for your pirate treasure geocoin?
  23. this is rather frustrating! these geocoins have been around for a long time, and there are many that were very recently activated, too. so, someone has the activation codes, but i can't find that person...lol...or they don't want to be found. i even emailed the person that sold me the geocoin at ebay, but they haven't replied or even listed anything for over a month! so i think that person may be a dead end, too! very strange. oh, by the way, Groundspeak.com and Geocaching.com are one and the same, and they can not or will not give any activation codes. i'm sure they must have the codes in their database, but there may be a new policy now. so no help there. please post here or contact me if you find out who has the codes. these are really very nice geocoins too!
  24. geocacher "sweetlife" has one up for adoption now in a recent geocoin forum thread.
