awesome geocoin! you should name each edition to give them character, such as: ~ copper/green "walking in the grass" ~ gold/purple "walking on thin ice" ~ black nickel/white "walking in the snow" ~ black nickel/nickel "walking on the path" ~ gold/red "walking through fallen leaves"??!! ~ nickel/blue "walking through shallow streams" just food for thought. i couldn't really think of a better name for the gold/red or gold/purple. anyone have any suggestions?!

both images are appealing, everyone will have their different opinions as to what they like or don't like. the bigger question is, which image will be more easily seen in a NEGATIVE 3D geocoin? the answer would be, the image with the MOST DETAIL. with any 3D relief image, the more detail you have, the more the shadows and light will easily reveal the image. so, of the two images, the more traditional "real life" tiger (second) image, has much more detail than the sculture image. this is an important thing to consider when picking your final design. however, either image can be enhanced or tweaked by simply adding or removing detail to it. one other thing i noticed. the second tiger image overlaps the written font with the tiger's left ear. this was probably done for 3D effect and is cool, but with a slight adjustment (of either the graphic or the font), the overlap can still be done and not block any letters of the font around the outside of the design. just my two cents worth. great idea! good luck. i may purchase one of these geocoins since i myself am a Water Tiger.

oh...and for everyone's information, the "first geocoin in orbit" geocoin does indeed show a replica design of the original "astrolabe" geocoin. however, the reverse design shows the space shuttle lifting off in 3D, and it has its own unique name and icon at the geocaching website, so they are indeed TWO different geocoins. just a fun fact to know if you are ever on the TV game show "jeopardy". "i'll take 'GEE ocoins!' for 800, Alex..."
