okay, this cointest will be easier but challenging too. the winner will be playing for a satin silver hector trojan horse...one of the last few i have left! good luck to all. the rules for this one are very simple. the first player to post, at this thread, the CORRECT IDENTITY OF MYSTERY CARDS NUMBER 34 AND 48, wins! i need the number (either 34 or 48) followed by the card rank and suit. however, you MUST POST BOTH CORRECT identities in one reply and you ONLY GET TO POST 1 REPLY OR GUESS PER DAY! there it is...sweet and simple...good luck to all! this is what you are playing for:

Am I getting this wrong or does it say, that Crowesfeat30 has a queen hearts as highest card and swamper and wolfslady a queen diamonds as highest card? So the only card same with swamper and wolfslady is card 7, so this must be the queen diamond. but crowes has also the 7, so he must be carrying a qeen diamonds as well but does not have a pair of queens. so where is my fault in understanding the list? you were correct. i made an error (i hope it is the only one). i have corrected it and i will review all answers to see of this error affected any hands. thank you for bringing it to my attention. it DOES NOT appear that my error has affected to outcome of this cointest. i am verifying the hands and times but looks like we have a WINNER! YES...WE HAVE A WINNER! once again, i have under-estimated the forum as the answers came in very soon after posting the announcement! stay tuned for the winning poker hand to be announced soon.

so...are we having fun yet?!

First off, I'd like to thank you all for playing and adding some fun and interesting comments to this thread. It was great to see so many new forum members posting here too, I would ask them to continue contributing and offering their opinions and comments to the geocoin forum. I hope you all had as much fun as I did playing and reading the posts. Secondly, and for the big moment you have all been waiting to read...out of 91 poker hands dealt and played, the highest winning hand was: A STRAIGHT FROM 3 TO 7 and the player who held this hand was: "SgtMikal" (post #62) Congratulations to "SgtMikal" well played! I will contact you soon for the shipping information. Lastly, for all you other players that did not win, please do not dispair. As promised, I will now have a consolation cointest poker game for all of you to play again. This cointest will be a bit different and much more challenging, so you will have to earn this win! You will need your thinking caps, and powers of deductive reasoning along with sleuth skill and a little bit of luck! Are you ready for the challenge?! Okay, the clock has begun ticking and time is of the essence, so without any further ado... HERE ARE THE CONSOLATION COINTEST POKER RULES: Before I reveal all of the 52 playing card identities, I am going to post the players' numbers selected list, along with a few details of additional information facts, or clues (see below). Using these factual clues as an aide, your task is to figure out the identity of as many mystery cards as you can, and then submit FIVE NEW AND DIFFERENT NUMBERS BETWEEN 1 AND 52 as your new consolation cointest poker hand! You obviously want to submit the five numbers that correspond to the BEST POSSIBLE HAND you can make in poker (a royal flush) if you can, but the hand you choose to submit is entirely up to you! There are also some HIDDEN CLUES to be found SOMEWHERE on the geocaching.com website! Hmmmmm...I wonder where those clues might be hiding?! In case you aren't familiar with poker, here is an example of how the poker hands rank in order (card suits are interchangeable and these are just examples): PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR POKER HAND NUMBERS IN THIS THREAD...REPEAT REPEAT...DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWER HERE! You should instead submit your five numbers to me through a PM (a private message...just click on the little blue PM button to the left of this post, just below my username and avatar). Be advised that an email may be delayed in reaching me, so try to avoid sending me an email through my profile, remember...send me a PM, its faster and much more reliable. In the event of more than one identical winning consolation hand, the FIRST HIGH HAND SUBMITTED will be declared the winner! So time is a factor...be thorough, but be fast too!...Only 1 submission per player. This consolation cointest will end in about 24 hours on Sunday, March 7th, at 5 PM U.S. Eastern Time. At that time, I will announce the consolation cointest winner, and all of the consolation cointest hands submitted (including the times I received them), along with the identity of all 52 mystery cards! So, good luck to you all for now...have fun, and I'll see you again in 24 hours! okay, it seems like everyone that wanted to play has already submitted their poker hand guess, so the original poker cointest is now ended. no more players allowed. stay tuned for the announcement of the winning hand and player! i will also post the consolation cointest poker rules for everyone that did not win. i will post these results and new rules in 15 minutes! so please stay tuned...
-
I didn't read the entire OP so I must indeed post my favorite party game...SPOONS! "spoons" another classic! i haven't played in years, but i will put it back on my "to do" play list! just a few more hours to enter a poker hand for this cointest and thus be qualified for the consolation cointest, so post your poker hand now.

well howdy neighbor! welcome to the geocoin forums and all the madness associated with it! good to see a fellow land of enchantment dweller playing in the reindeer games! good luck and be here saturday at 5 PM eastern time (3 PM our time) for the winner announcement and a fun consolation game that, once again,...anyone can win!
-
i loved the game "trouble"! for some reason i always felt like making popcorn when ever we played it!
-
well...nikos...i had considered an elimination poker cointest for the top hands, but i would really like ALL players to have a second chance at winning, so i have come up with ANOTHER poker cointest that will involve different skills instead of just blind luck to win! i think you will like it.
-
just about one more day left before this cointest ends. tell all your geocaching friends that might be interested to come play! there will be a 24 hour consolation poker cointest beginning immediately after this cointest ends at 5 PM eastern time for all participating players. so tune in for all the details.
-
i like the artwork, and i'm sure the coin itself will be even more impressive.
-
these look great! congrats! keep us posted on the latest developments.
-
i have not seen "sing star", can you tell us how to play? good luck in the cointest! (edit to add) i googled "singstar" and i see that its a sing along playstation game. looks like fun. especially for me, since i like to sing!
-
another first time forum thread post! awesome...welcome to the madness! thanks for playing and good luck! remember, there will be a consolation cointest for all players that will begin right after this cointest winner is announced on saturday and will run for 24 hours, with timely replies being a factor. so stay tuned for all the details.

"Coins" that are just laminated cards
Odyssey Voyager replied to Happy Bubbles's topic in Trackables
there has also been cases of geocoins being stolen and replaced with a picture or a scan or a proxy replica (a washer or poker chip). you might want to contact the owner of that geocoin and ask them if they released an actual real geocoin, or a replica proxy of some sort. often times the owners are not even aware of the switch that has been made. i suspect the geocoin thieves do this to hide the trail of exactly when and where the geocoin went missing. -
i know its a long shot, but does anyone have a 2007 compass rose in black nickel finish for sale or trade? PM or email to see if we can work something out. i still have OVG trojan horses available as a possible trade. thanks.
-
although i've never played it before, i've heard a lot about this game "apples to apples" and it is on my list of games to keep on hand for parties.
-
hi susanne, i'm glad you liked your Hades Trojan Horse. good luck and thank you for playing!
