  1. I also have recovered four of the missing TB's. They were in the Million Dollar Breeze cache site (gcg86h)((which happens to belong to Geo$ing)). Since I hadn't seen any of them listed on the Internet cache descriptions page I brought them all home with me not knowing anything about them. I hadn't been keeping up with the forums so had no idea of all the problems with the TB's. Now I am wondering how to release them again? I have Hubert, Fly Army, Pokado, and Dalton.
  2. I know of a cave cache near where I live here in Colorado that no one has found. It is called the Carbide Cave Cache (GC8839). I would love to go and find it myself but have no caving experience. I think it is near the Dotsero exit before the Glenwood canyon (when you are headed west on I-70.) Good luck, I would be interested to know if you find it and how much experience one would need in caving to give it a shot. I am not brave enough to try it on my own. There is a map you can download called the Fulford Cave that is all you need I think. I could have my caves mixed up so you would need to do some research for yourself before attempting it.
  3. used to be my favorite pastime until I discovered geocaching! Got a Garmin Vista for Christmas and haven't even looked at the metal detector since. Course it is winter here in Colorado and not much chance of detecting in the snow and frozrn ground. Know you will love geocaching. Good luck deciding what to get!!
  4. Are you sure you were hunting a regular cache?? Nothing harder than trying to find a cache only to realize later it is a virtual.
  5. I contacted the people who picked up Little Mac from one cache and put him in another. They can't get the page where they log him in to work. Says it just keeps refreshing itself or something. Any more ideas??
  6. Thanks Nincehesler, will start with an e-mail to the orignal movers. If nothing happens will go grab it myself like you said and enter a note to show it moved.
  7. I noticed Sunday that a cache here in Colorado (GC7FEF)was found containing the travel bug Little Mac. He was taken and moved to another cache close by (GCB70D) however nothing is showing that Little Mac has been traveling so if you haven't read the logs you would think he is still in the first cache. What is going on and how does one fix i?. I would like to pick up Little Mac but don't want to ruin his travel (not that it is much distance!!)
  8. You asked how the Grandson responded to us getting yelled at by the landowner. Ha, we should all take the Grandson's approach to life. His only comment after the guy left was, "not a nice man" and that was the end of it for him. Course at 2 and a half he has no worries about the reality of life!! We have been treasure hunting every weekend since and think the thought of Dinasaurs getting him at the "Dino's Dig" site worried him more than an angry human.
  9. Leatherman you are absolutly right when you state that it is illegal for a person to trespass and the land owner did have every right to come uncorked at us. In Colorado, you fence out cows, fence in pigs but a land owner does NOT have to post his private property. Our incident was a good lesson for all geocachers everywhere to be aware of where they are. Just becasue we could see people on the trails across from us was no excuse for "assuming" that we were on public lands. I know we learned a valuable lesson from this and will figure out in the future how to be more careful of where we are. Had we known the area better we would have known where to park as the clue was very obivious once we were in the right place.
  10. I've got a 1974 super beetle. Been in the family her entire life and has taught countless relatives how to drive stick shift. Best thing about her is she looks awful, runs great and scares off all those big SUV types. Who would want park next to such a beat up machine!! Was saving her for the Grandson but he's only two and think maybe I'll be selling her some time soon. Want to retire and have too many vehicles!!
  11. Took the Grandson and daughter geocaching today. We have only been caching for about a month (four finds) so we screw up a lot yet. We were hot on the trail of treasure and pulled off the road to park and follow the GPS. There were no fences, no signs that we were on private property and we were near a BLM recreational site (hiking, biking etc.)plus way out in the country. We had gotten out of the car and walked a bit before we discovered there might be a better place to start from and we were headed back to the car when this guy roared up in his vehicle blocking our exit. He stormed out of his vehicle and started in on us about being on his property and how we were destroying his investment and so on. We very calmly explained to him what we were doing and apologized for being on his land. He did finally calm down and move his vehicle so we could go on our way. About a minute down the road we discovered where we should have pulled off to hunt for the treasure. He did have a legitmate complaint cause while the treasure is on BLM land our west coordinates put us on his land which is between the road and the BLM land and had we continued walking north on his property we would have entered BLM land and found the treasure. This was an honest mistake on our part, yet we feel that we have created a problem for future cachers in this area. Any ideas how we can prevent this kind of thing from happening again?
