  1. We're back from our trip. On the way out from Minn./St. Paul to Salt Lake City, we were going 502 mph. On the way back on the same leg of the trip we were going 650 in a CRJ 700. On Delta between the twin cities and salt lake, a guy about 10 rows in front of me had a gps and asked if he could use it. The stewardess took the manual to the cockpit and the answer was yes you can use it as along as you don't have an external attena. I did find that the unit had to be right next to the window to lock on any satalites. Josh
  2. We are flying Delta so I checked them out. According to this http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/inf...vices/index.jsp you can use gpsrs when you can use pdas.
  3. When you pick a state and go to the cache map, why isn't there a button for geocaching home page? This would be nice to have. Josh
  4. Sorry for the double post. Not sure how that happened. Josh
  5. Has anyone taken their gpsr on a plane and turned it on while flying? I think it would be cool to see where you are at and how fast you are going. Just wondered if anyone has had any problems. Thanks. Josh P.S. I tried searching to make sure this hasn't been covered but didn't find anything. Sorry if it has.
  6. I was searching some caches and came across two where 1 member status was banned and the other was not validated. What does the not validated mean? Josh
  7. Can you turn off the compass on a garmin III plus? I've messed around with the unit and have looked in the owners manual and haven't found a way to do turn it off. I didn't know if there was some special way of doing it. Thanks for the help. Josh
  8. Do you have a website, Kermodi that lists the benchmarks in Canada? jak324
  9. Nevermind, the trip is off. Thanks anyway. jak324
  10. Can someone tell of a quick cache that I can hit near St. Louis? I have a travel bug that I would like to drop off down there and I will be going through there on Friday. But, it needs to be quick due to the trip because I don't have a lot of time to go looking for caches. I will be on I-55 and I-255. Thanks for the help. jak324
  11. You're right, other things due cost more per gallon. BUT, they don't vary in price from day to day. They do charge you for what is in the bottle, not the futures. I went and bout gas one day and the attendant/owner was talking to another owner and he asked what his price was. The guy says outloud where I can hear, "You're charging this?, Yeah, I'll think I'll raise my price to that". That is why you get crap for working for an oil company. Needless to say, I will not go to that gas station anymore. jak324

  14. As a newb, I've been in stores and on the internet and have found many sites with stuff relating to gps and the outdoors in genereal. My question is, where do you guys buy your stuff? By looking at peoples signatures I have seen some websites that I have never seen before. Thanks for the help. Josh
  15. Thanks guys, it makes sense. Can't believe I didn't think of batteries. Josh
  16. I am new to geocaching and can't wait for Christmas when I get my gps. I have been looking at caches in my area and have been reading this bb and have had tons of questions answered. Thanks to all of you experienced geocachers. One thing I noticed is to never leave food in the caches and I understand why, but I have seen GPS food. What is gps food? Thanks for the help. Josh
