  1. Thanks much for the input. Will look into the suggested ones and decide which ones to do.
  2. I will be in Allentown the week after next and will have the evenings hopefully free to do some caching. This will be first chance I've had in a long time to do some caching and would like to do some really good ones. I saw that there a lot in the area but don't have time to do them all. Scenic views and off the beaten path are plusses. Thanks in advance. Bob
  3. Is this unit actually available? I've looked a few places online and some seem to be selling pre-orders and others actually seem to be selling it right now. I can't find any user reviews or comments on it. If it is available, did anyone buy/try one yet? It looks like a good overall gpsr. I am currently using a 76s for everything, although I haven't had a chance to go geocaching for a while, and the 500 seems like it would be a huge step up.
  4. What happened to Quest Master? More important, what site are his caches listed on now? I really enjoyed doing his caches and wanted to do them all, but poof, they're gone.
  5. I am taking a short trip to NE OH next weekend and was planning on finding a few caches while there. I was planning on finding a few TBs in my area and moving them. Would there be a problem with me moving 3, 4, or maybe more TBs at once? I plan on placing them in different caches. I just didn't know of stockpiling and moving multiple TBs is frowned upon or not. Thanks in advance. Bob
  6. I don't have many finds(25)but have seen a few like that. I try to hide them a little better, wondering the whole time if the owner intended them to be that visible. I note it in the logs also.
  7. I agree with scottpa100. I know that, personally, I would not have a problem with having to find a certain amount of caches before I could place one. This would also give newbie cachers, myself included, ideas for cash placement and what to put in them.
  8. Same here. Someone brought up the topic on the forum and it sounded interesting so I tried it. And since we're posting pics...
  9. What we supposed to do, not go caching in the winter? I understand if it is a often visited cache, but for some that are out in the middle of nowhere that rarely get visited, especially in the winter, what does it hurt? I enjoy caching in the winter, and if I was afraid of making footprints I wouldn't have any finds since the beginning of December.
  10. I've thought of that also. Finding a good route that includes a few good scenic/historical locations and placing micros or just having virtuals.
  11. Someone on another forum I'm a member of, stromtrooper.com, asked if anyone else goes geocaching. When he explained what it was, it caught my interest and led me here. I'm still doing it by myself, but am trying to find someone to do it with me.
  12. This is what most of my journeys start and end on.
  13. Hello all. I'm new to geocaching, but it seems very interesting. I actually did my first one today , a virtual cache. Geocaching allows me to use my GPS for more than just a roadmap on my bike, which is where it is mounted most of the time. I live in Greensburg, so if anyone else wants to get together for some caching fun, let me know. I know the Laurel Highlands quite well(I think), so I could be of some use if someone needed help. Bob
  14. I am new to this geocaching thing, but my adventures start and end on this:
