WOW!!! 8k winch that is a lot for a jeep. I have a 9,000 lb winch on my Cherokee and it even bogs down a bit at times! When you figure in the weight of your jeep and how bad the stuck is it's better to have more then not enough! I've even had to double line my winch to get myself out of some bad predicaments. When this is done it double the rating of the winch, but cuts down the speed in half. I've been so stuck once in a mud hole that I need a tow truck to come get me out. The front of my jeep had to get lifted up as it was pulled out because of the suction of the mud! Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps or atleast explains the need for a winch that big.

This is a pic of my 1988 Cherokee XJ with a 4.0L. It has a 4.5 inch suspension lift with 33 inch tires. Numerous skid plates, rock rails, front and rear rock bumpers (rear has integrated air tank), and Warn XD9000i winch. A surrco roof rack with spare tire, light and high lift jack mounts. I got my rear leaf springs custom made to give me more articulation. The front axle has 36 inches of articulation aided by Jhonny joint control arms and cut front fenders for clearence. Rear axle has has a Lock Right while the front end has a limited slip.
