  1. Does anyone know a tool, to create digital maps (scanned, drawn,...) and upload them to a GArmin GPSMAP76S ? I live in Luxembourg, and in none of the CD's on the market my hometown is mentioned (and believed me I checked all of them !) So, there are so many programs, is there anyone who could help me. hello
  2. Wouldn't there be a possibility that Geocaching.com could help us top give a clear comment? Maybe FOUND it and DIDN'T FIND IT are not enough. There could be more like : This cache is great, this cache has clear instructions, this cache has a new idea ______, ...... hello
  3. Try to include weather in your preparations. Once I was blocked when I tried to find RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER in Luxembourg, because I had to take the bearing of different building. Unfortunately the weather was too bad (fog) so that I couldn't see anything. I was very disappointed because I was so proud to go out even in very bad weather and that finally I was forced to resign. hello
  4. As scout leader for about 15 years now, I often had the idea of cheating to get my leader formation (school) earlier and easier. But every time I thought for whom I was learning... for the instructor... for the scoutship... NO, FOR MYSELF. In geocaching it's absolutely the same, and I know that you'll agree, travelling around the world makes you meet different people, different ways of hiding a cache, new ideas, NEW EXPERIENCES. You do all this for yourself, and not for GEOCACHING.COM or even the pope in Rome. The guy who likes geocaching takes his free time to get out in the nature, to explore his own skills... it doesn't count how many caches you have found, but what you have learned! hello
  5. hehe, MALEKI your idea doesn't sound bad. Even if that's no totally the correct TB attitude, I am thinking about doing the same. NEWER FORGET : TB HAVE A SOUL TOO !! hello
  6. Thank's but since the world is huge, I was aware that among all the millions of people, somebody MUST have had the same idea . But that's ok, I'm gonna re-invent the weel and use the idea as well... Just wanted to know what type I should use. So please vote hello
  7. We have the same problem with Burgeo2(GC503C) where in the description a TB appears but physically has gone. I was also very disappointed when we finally found the cache but without TB. If this is a common problem...why isn't there a common solution. I mean people simply have to read what's indicated on these pages, that's all. Are there official TB graveyards? hello
  8. Despite the fact that anyone else will use my idea... I have a question. I'm planning a Travel Bug that would transport a memory card, so that the Geocachers could upload texts, pictures, etc What kind of memory card is used the most, or would you prefer ? hello
  9. I also voted no. I was so glad that finally I found a hobby that was based on non-profit an volunteerism.... Please try to keep money out that. hello
  10. I think, GC is a family activity and we should try to keep it clean. (however you're free to do what you want in a deep forest) hello
  11. Thank you for your attitude. You developed a tool and propose it to others.... good idea. Personally I'm always interested in such kind of sheets, could you please sent it to me... email can be found in my Profile. Thank's in advance.... hello
  12. For example, this week-end I lost nearly one hour, desperately searching for a cache. Since I was very close to the indicated location, the GPS constantly told me to move. In a last effort I looked around the area and finally found it. So your GPS is good to give you an idea where to search, but the last meters have to bee made BY YOUR EYES AND YOUR FEELINGS !! hello
  13. Personally, before I go out to seek a cache, I try to prepare myself. A topo card of the region, maybe helpful, a closer look to the region may help you spot dangerous places. I think that anyway, one of the main rules is not to penetrate private land (without permission of the owner). I think that anti-caches should be treated outside the side, on s special site. Anyway, the idea sounds good hello
  14. Just for information, the European's have been discussing for years now, to create their own GPS system, it shall be called Gallileo. Some kind of automatic SMS messages, and communications will be integrated and maybe a beaconing system for SAR, but the american GPS idea will be kept. Thanks to God, the USA made their GPS system available for the whole world, because we will continue waiting for our own system for the next years to come. Thanks to the american tax payers who made this system possible (and this is no JOKE !!) hello
  15. OK I got it , so I'm the only one here ... nice hobby.... hello
  16. I just wondered if there was a way to search for fellow GEOCACHERS near the place you are living. I live in Luxembourg, and would like to know whether there are "geocaching guys " here with the same hobby so that we could discuss common problems or possible solutions (without this Forum). Is there an online registered user list. ? Thanks for your contribution hello
  17. Just one question, considering that this is an international Site and that people from all over the world regularly meet here I think that it's quite obvious that the only language used in the Forum is ENGLISH. So... why isn't that the case for the description of the CACHES, or their different log's . I is a pity that some caches in Belgium are not in English, so people who don't speak NL will never have the opportunity to search them. Has anyone the same opinion or .... Have a nice day hello
  18. .... no joke .. The one thing I love.. and really love about geocaching is that my wife doesn't have the intention of following me. So I'm FREEEE to go where I want, whitout her. Maybe others have the same sensation... hehehe
  19. Hello, despite the fact that Luxembourg is very small , there may be various people living there (like me) who like geocaching. Wouldn't there be a way to get in contact, to discuss the caches from the region (even borders) and maybe workout something new. I'd really love to get some feed-back.
