  1. Please, do not make me remove that one too. hello
  2. It has been archieved, so stay cool. , apparently it has been approved by accident. To all the guy who sent me nasty mails, thank you but I'm not used to answer in that tone, I simply thought this could be a great idea, but ok. It's not my fault that it has bee approved so please STOP SENDING ME YOUR COMMENTS BY MAIL. Nothing happened, it's all right. hello [This message was edited by Sc out on March 13, 2003 at 05:07 AM.]
  3. Together with our group we had the idea of collecting peace signals from around the world. We try to use the Virtual Geocache feature to collect as many texts, poem, pictures, links as possible. This is not specially ment for the Gulf region, neither should it represent a political message! It shall be "only" be a global peace message against any conflicts. If you have an idea, give us a visit. Scouts St. Martin Schifflange. LINK REMOVED hello [This message was edited by Sc out on March 13, 2003 at 05:16 AM.]
  4. I've been a boy scout for about 15 years now, maybe I should have learned more but... On one of my last caches, around ARLON , next to Luxembourg, I got lost in a forest. But really lost, I desperately searched for more than an hour to get back to my car. My GPS lost signal, an even when I got back the signal (which was constantly interrupted) I found out that all the log that I needed to get back to my car, or even find out where it was, had not been saved. So I lost the signal long before , whitout realizing it. So I hope with a small external antenna, I will solve that problem. (I also found out the settings to let my GPS BEEP when it looses signal) hello
  5. One more question : How about bettery life, does the external antenna drain more battery power or not? Is the GPS reception really better or only slightly better ? And a last one ? does'nt that look too foolish with the antenna attached at your backpack ?? I mean that seriously ! ... hello
  6. Did anybody ever use an external antenna while walking? I thought about using my garmin 76Map S with an external anetnna, since I often loose SAT contact while I carry it in my pocket. What's your opinion ?? hello
  7. Did anybody ever try to make a Night Cache? Something with a flashing LED that can only be viewed at night? Were you successful, what were the difficulties? hello
  8. I always log everything, but when I think that a cache is too hard to find, I write a personal E-mail to the cache owner. When I get back later and find the cache I usually delete my previous "didn't find" log and maybe give a small clue to other seekers. hello
  9. do not read this . hello
  10. Belux ? yes, Belux sounds greater than Benelux... hello
  11. As far as I know, both Gallileo and GPS as well as the WAAS satellites and their european system will be compatible. hello
  12. Of course I know that you are right. MY idea was to get a Benelux Site with informations just like theones you mentioned, but always with a link to the one and only database of geocaching.com. That will take time, but I'm happy to hear that you were talking about that, and that there is a slight chance that it will take place one day... Bye... hello
  13. Great idea, We thought about something similar, since vandalism is a real problem in my home own, stashes are often removed, stolen, broken, so we have to check our cache quite often. So your idea may help us in the future to create caches to do not need so much maintenance. bye hello
  14. Does any one know which battery type is best when it's cold outside. I know that every battry power get low in deep temperatures, but how are your experiences with rechargables? Do they last a bit longer or .....?? Thanks. hello

    HI ALL !

Hi, just wanted to tell you my personal view, In my opinion you should never forget that GC is the fun of being outside and going to places you've never been before. The fun of discovering nature and getting in contact with other people. Take your time, plan every cash hunt carefully, do not try to do that as a competition sport. I think that no one will blame you if you geocache only once a month or don't find anything. Let's keep competition out of this great hobby.... Any comments ? hello
  16. Is there no way to get a BENELUX Site ? just a question... hello
  17. We had two great weeks here in Luxemburg, NNIIICCEEE Weather, sun,... but now... you guess it, it's raining and guess what else.. spring fever has turned into real fever. Had to stay in bed for 2 days... so GC will have to wait hello
  18. The news are getting worse from day to day... hello
  19. I think that underwater caches are a splendid idea. Even if I do not own such equipment ! If I want to find a underwater cache, I can still search it together with another guy that does have the needed equipment. Si I find the cache location, and he may search underwater.... TEAMWORK ! hello
  20. Yes ! And I'm proud of that ! I do not often have the time (Scouting, fire fighting, sports, speleo) so sometimes I make none a month, or maybe one or two. Yes, that's all and I still love it.... hello
  21. I practice geocaching to get distance from common day problems, while out in the nature I can sometimes forget and relax. So, personally I think that it's a great pitty to mix up personal problems with geocaching and use the "cache-owner-power" to delete ones logs. Please try to separate both things... there's enough trouble in the world ... hello
  22. Hey, great idea that Hard Drive I'm always impressed by the various ideas that are presented in this Forum. hello
