I had the same issue when in New Orleans. Was sooooo looking forward to marking a below sea level altitude but couldn't get anything less than zero.

I always ask one of the flight crew if its okay. Every time I've been told it's okay just as long as it's not during takeoff or landing. Make sure to get a window seat. At least for the intial lock you've got to have it right up againts the window. Then after the inital lock I've been able to rest it on the leg closest to the window. It's very cool to watch your progress.

I went on a raft trip this weekend and accidentally dropped my Sportrak Pro into the bottom of the raft. This was obviously a soft landing in about an inch or two of water but when I picked up the GPSr the unit was dead; when I tried to power it back on the screen showed some wild lines and characters and then blinked off. Yes; the battery compartment was secured all the way and there is no sign of moisture in there. I've been drying it out for the last two days but am worried. The unit is only about 6 month old. What will Magellan do service wise? Am I SOL?

Reinitialize it a couple of times. I've never had my SportrakPro ever take that long. The only exception was when I flew from STL to Orlando. Never used the Pro during the flight and when we got outside it took almost 15 minutes to find the satelites. Then again that was all my fault since it assumed we were still in St. Louis and was looking for the wrong birds in the wrong places.

I was in New Orleans this last weekend for Mardi Gras and took my SporTrak Pro with me. When in the Garden District and French Quarter I got altitude readings of 0 feet but nothing below that. I thought these parts of New Orleans were a few feet below sea-level. Is that correct and has anyone gotten a below 0 altitude reading with a GPSr?

I haven't had any problems with 4.02 and hadn't really seen anything here about it. What's wrong with 4.02?

I've had my lowest accuracy down to 7 feet driving on I-55 in St. Louis just south of the A-B brewery.

I have been trying to run the MyMeridian software but get and error message. I get the first warning saying that the Warning Screen will be uodated and to proceed at your own caution. I then get a message there is a problem with the mgold312.hex file. Has anyone else gotten this?

Has anyone attempted this with the 4.03 firmware? I got my Sportrak Pro for Christmas and immediately upgraded my firmware to 4.03. It sounds like anything after 3.02 does not support personalizing the warning screen. Maybe I should get the 3.02 firmware, make the changes to the screen and then switch back to 4.03? Has anyone who previously made a change to the warning screen then upgraded the 4.03 firmware lost those changes?
