Why dont you reprogram the travel bug map, so that it counts travel distance in a more logical way (the shortest way). If i fly from japan to USA, its very rare that I cross the whole asia, europe and the atlantic ocean. Mostly I fly, crossing the pacific ocean. In case many travel bugs competes in longest travels distance, this pacific trip will be logged as 4 times longer than it actually is.
