I found a travel bug with a travel journal attached, which at the owner's request I sent back to them for a look. We sent it back with a few goodies in it and said if they wanted to post it back I would put it back out in Ireland for them. (The bug's goal is to travel around Ireland). Anyway, today we got a lovely parcel with postcards, chocs, coins, a pencil, and TWO unregistered geocoins in it! We are delighted at their generosity of course, what lovely people. My question is this - one geocoin is an ordinary one, that you can register at geocaching.com. The other is a california geocoin ( from Hollywood!) but it can't be registered at geocaching.com, instead you have to go to another site, where it wants me to log my zip code ( no zip codes in Ireland!) and I can't even find how to log the location of an out of state coin. Anyone got any experience with this? If I send it out will anyone bother to log it? Maybe I should just keep it, its a very nice coin. Any advice appreciated!

Well I am bewildered. I registered here in 2006 when I put my mum onto geocaching, but only started gecocaching myself in 2009. What does it matter anyway? Anyway, here in Ireland we only have a couple of thousand caches, and only 300 within 100 miles of my house in Cork, so there is no dreaded micro creep here yet. I've done 20 caches only, all of them beautiful locations ( the last one was this one GCT6W1 at a 14th century ruin in a glorious cove - maybe we're better off here in the dark ages of caching?

Nope, you're not unchecking anything. It just isn't programmed to do that. When I get around to working on the next version I will look at putting that in. Please do, as I say its a great app and I really appreciate your work on it!

This is great! But just one question please? I can see the notes and the clue - but the co-ords aren't always included. Am I unticking something I should be ticking? Great app though!

I'll give them a bit more time - I was posting it from Ireland to the US so they may not have received it yet. Thanks to both of you for the help!

I picked up a travel bug with an attached journal a few weeks ago. Before I got the chance to move it on, the owner emailed me to ask if I would post it back to her. I was happy to do this, hopefully she will get it soon. Now my question is, how do I log that? Its still showing up as in my possession because I'm not sure how to log it as posted? I'm pretty new to this - 18 finds only, so any help much appreciated.

Heh. Just found our second and third caches today so I reckon I could probably just escape now. I don't want to though.

Yes, I registered back then to keep an eye on what my mum was up to! She's on over a hundred finds now so I have a bit of caching up to do! Although she hasn't set up any caches yet so I might beat her to that!

We found our very first cache today - what fun! My mum has been taking my kid geocaching for years after I told her about it (I read about it online and thought it would be right up her street). Anyway, this was our first go, can't wait to do another one! I'm already plotting where I can set up a cache myself!
