  1. I want to thank all of you who came to the event on Saturday and made it such fun. Geokitebuggy, thanks for bringing containers for us all. You can bet they will be put to good use. I think you may also have been the cacher who came the furthest. Thanks to all of you who lent a hand, especially Mrs2fer for all her help in planning and baking! You guys are the best! Can't wait for the next event(s)! Way to go MACers for all the great new caches you have been placing lately. This is definitely the hotspot of the Valley!
  2. Tomorrow is the Merced Morning Muffin Mania event. Anyone else interested in coming? I've noticed there are many many new caches in Merced and it will be fun to see how many I can find tomorrow after the event. Thanks for all the new caches lately, MAC !
  3. Can I bring my poison oak?? You know, I don't think that would be such a good idea. Why would you want to anyway?
  4. It's only 5 days until Merced Morning Muffin Mania. Thinking about it made me want to make some muffins, so I did. This should get you in the mood, too. Chocolate chip....delish! Oh, and there are so many new caches in Merced too!
  5. Hey BOGA, did you see that? Yep, that was me. I started caching like 9 months after you and passed 1000 a couple weeks before you. That was me, that FLASH that passed you by! Well, great cachers like us have to pace themselves or we would burn out too quickly , right?
  6. Checking on a cache or two in preparation for Merced Morning Muffin Mania. I can confirm what you're saying, 2 for the road. For one of my caches I had 100% match up between logs and signatures until the days following GWS. Then suddenly I had many more finds online than signatures on paper. And that was a log going back almost 2 yrs so obviously the vast majority of cachers FIND the caches and then log them honestly, but apparently there are those who don't . I think these cut-and-paste logs and "team" umbrella signatures affected many of you other cache owners.
  7. Hi Bug'sMom! Welcome to Geocaching and the CVC forum. This is where you get to know the local characters a bit more, that's for sure. If you are interested, I've just posted a new event in Merced for June 28th, Merced Morning Muffin Mania. Please come and meet some local cachers and cache around Merced. We'd love to meet you . Oh, and all the rest of you are invited too!!!
  8. There's no record of any marriage... and her children have more varieties than Baskin Robbins. It all roots back to her love for foreign travel, but that's all in the past. ohh boy who decided to open up the bag of worms????? Certainly not OF, 2fer, Photom, JPD or... let's see... who else has taken CVC Tag!!! out of the state (or country)? Oh, ya. Radikel. I cannot think why you are pointing your finger at me. Tag certainly cannot be taken out of the Central Valley and then back into the Central Valley without the help of at least two cachers, and maybe three. That said, I think a foreign adventure is much more pleasant for a roving cache, than sitting idle in locations around the Central Valley for days and weeks on end. (Same theory applies to people such as myself ).
  9. Here's Mr 2fer in camo, I mean, costume! He said he was thrilled that our MAC friends came to see him perform. It was a fun evening, thanks for sharing it with us!
  10. I think that kind of event is both relatively easy to arrange and attend. I had a great turn out at my event this summer and everyone really seemed to enjoy it. If you have it in the morning, you are right, people can cache afterward and be home maybe before it gets too dark or cold. What area are you thinking of having it in?
  11. Ok, Radikel, you caught me. I confess; I took it. I wanted to make it into my namesake traveling cache. I was thinking of taking it to China first. (Like some cachers did with CVC Tag.) What do you think? I can think of no better cache to do something so, well....outrageous!
  12. Seems like we have a rather bad muggle problem in the Merced-Atwater area. JPD's "Outrageous Fortunes!" not only disappeared, but also the whole structure to which it was (is?) attached. Could this be an innocent muggling or is it be a personal issue related to the problems he has in the Millerton Lake area?
  13. I just wanted to thank all the wonderful geocachers who attended "Extra Cheese, Please!" on Friday . It was a pleasure to see you all. I am always glad to meet cachers, new and veteran. There are many new names on the logs lately and I hope you newbies were able to get some information from the old-timers. The cachers who have been around a while, well it was nice to meet those of you whose caches I have enjoyed finding over the years. Then there were you cachers who are the "regulars" at these events and I can't say enough about you guys. Thank you all for making geocaching the great hobby we all love .
  14. ATWATER?? That's close enough for a quick grab.
  15. Glad to see our local MAC super-geocachers are back safe and sound. I know they will have plenty of tall tales to share with us at "Extra Cheese, Please!" this Friday. Hope everyone can attend, it should be a great way to spend a summer evening....pizza & geocaching!
  16. YES - save our seats at Mountain Mikes! Will BOGA make his way down?? Rest assured, guys, your seats are reserved and there is room enough for any other cachers who want to join us at Extra Cheese, Please!. It will be great to see all the regulars, and also to meet all the new cachers who have RSVP'd so far.
  17. Well?? Is she keeping it there?! I let my idea out of my mind. Check it out.
  18. Yes, it's really a wonderful upgrade to the site. Makes the cache pages, especially the events, even better.
  19. Sounds like this one is something special! I plan on going north tomorrow, and I hope I can stop in Delhi to look for this "delightful" cache. By the way, it was also a pleasure to visit with you and your family at the recent event.
  20. Thanks MAC for a wonderful weekend event! You totally raised the event bar. S'mores and Snores II was an amazing success.
  21. Seems like BOGA has found a new way to advertise his caches and this time he's reaching a global audience! Anyone listening to the most recent Podcacher podcast will hear mention of how nice BOGA is to new cachers in his area and how innovative his puzzle caches are. Seriously Bill, good for you, for being the type of cacher that makes geocaching fun for all of us!
  22. I believe that happens at ALL events. I know for a fact that 2 of my travelling California Poppy coins are still sitting int he event in Ripon!! I didn't get any coins or TBs (at either event) but I had a fun time! It was a great event everyone!
  23. Gosh, I am sorry to hear your TB has gone missing. I guess you have probably already emailed the cachers who went to the cache right after your TB was placed there? Have you emailed the cache owner? I have known of TBs my friends have had that turned up miraculously at a later date. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Good luck.
  24. TDD and Tom, that's a fantastic photo! I love it. Looks like you had amazing views! Well done!
  25. Microtaz, "Watermark" is a very creative cache. We did it with 3 caching groups, found many caches in the area, and had a wonderful geocaching day. Hope you have a great time and congrats on reaching the 500 mark .
