  1. For easier operation, a larger screen, an external antenna option, choose the 76s. IMHO it was well worth the extra $100.00 Welcome and enjoy ***************************************** This Space Intentionally Left Blank
  2. I figured it out *****************************************
  3. I turned on the HEADING LINE function today (in map setup) and now I cannot turn it off. Anyone seen this? *****************************************
  4. Tradboy is right, The term Fairplex usually refers to a municipal property with multiple uses. Its the comPLEX where they hold the county FAIR. Hence, FAIRPLEX. Often times it includes an airport or a racetrack. ***************************************** This space intentionally left blank
  5. Our idealism must serve us well. Lets don't overlook the fun factor. I'd rather be out searching for caches than re-programming the game. I guess I really am blissfully ignorant. *****************************************
  6. I'll be in Liege in the near future. I'll try my hand at caching in Luxembourg then. Thanks for being in Souting, it's a great program. *****************************************
  7. Woo Hoo! They're here, this should be interesting. It sure polarized the folks up north. Its a radio promotion, right? *****************************************

  9. I bought a 76s and couldn't be happier ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  10. When the weather is nice up there it can't be beat. I'll be going up to Lacey WA soon to visit a daughter in college and look forward to a few caches in the Northwest. Good job on the house... MtM ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  11. I agree, the autorouting works very well in units that I have tested. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  12. I just upgraded to a Garmin 76s. I don't need the autorouting capabilities but I really like the compass feature, it will keep you on track in heavy tree cover. I was looking at the eTrex with compass but I wanted to retain the external antenna option, also important to me. I am not familiar with the Garmin V capabilities but I have no complaints about the 76s so far Cheers ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  13. Unfortunatley I do not have the day off, though that does not stop me from sneaking out early. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  14. Howdy, Well I travel WAY too much. There is a chain of business hotels that are very reasonable in price (79.00 on weekends) that have good facilities. In our area there is one in Rancho Cordova, Dublin and San Francisco. Their homepage; http://www.amerisuites.com/index.shtml I stay at one in Maine when I am back east. Most have Hi speed internet, those that don't are getting it. I wish thay had this chain in Korea.... Monty ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  15. Congrats Fizzy! You are indeed an inspiration. I have a LOOOONG way to go, but it’s the journey right? The Quest for something that we...oh never mind, no need to get Arthurian about this Fizzy, watch out for those Canadian Posters, they can get nasty. Maybe I was the last to figure that out. Good Job! MontytheMule ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  16. Micros are their own challenge for sure. I have even seen super micros-Pencil lead containers-that need tweezers to get the log out of it. I like bigger caches myself, but in urban areas placement can be difficult. Monty ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  17. No Problems. Had to setup preferences again, as expected. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  18. Sounds interesting. As I age (HA!) it gets more difficult to pull all-nighters. I like the concept though. As I frequently travel, I frequently have severe jet lag. I was going to save my nite hunting for the jetlag recovery period. I could try, and if I fall asleep on the side of the trail, please switch off the GPSr so I'll have enough battery power to figure out where I am in the morning ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  19. My wife and I Cache together and seperately. When we find one together we both cache cause we were both there. She has a different search technique when we get within about 100 ft from a cache. It is amusing to observe. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  20. Someday maybe we can make a list of Airport TB hotels, like the "I HATE I-5" Cache list. There is one near London Heathrow, also JFK. Thanks Max! ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  21. Sadly, I've had this trouble on my laptop too. Thank goodness there is still a serial port on my desktop. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  22. Hi all, I used to live in Loveland, 20 Mile House Actually. I used to work at Milacron in Maineville. I miss Ohio,I left before I got into this sport. There are so many cool spots out there for caches. Anyone think of doing caches at/or near, some of the Earthworks like Serpent Mound or Ft. Ancient? Maybe a trip out there is in order... Cheers ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  23. Oh, the above cache with the fine ranger note is in Calif in a park that has no current policy. Chances are there will be a policy soon. Other locations in California are not so friendly. Wherever caches are placed, most folks I know follow the local regulations, as well as Geocache guidlines. ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy..
  24. Such a nice day, I only did one new cache today cause I hiked to an old one where I knew the view was great, on Black Mountain. Great Pic ******************************************* I am a severely patient sort of guy.. [This message was edited by montythemule on February 09, 2003 at 12:25 AM.]
