  1. Ok, since nobody seems to have mentioned that here (or didn't dare to mention it) I'll have a try: What do you think about a temporary return of the locationless cache type as long as Corona is keeping many stuck at home? HQ have revived the type this year albeit with a different idea as a "once in a lifetime come back" for this year as part of the 20 years celebration. But wouldn't it be great to have a couple more of these where HQ requests geocachers to be as creative as possible while staying at home? I think it would be a great way to still make geocaching possible and keep the community alive now outside geocaching is hampered and events to get together are not allowed either. Thinking of some creative ideas for this would be: - A locationless cache where you show in photo's what kind of cache you're creating for once the corona virus is gone, - A message for all other geocachers stuck at home too. - Adding a fun text to the quote "You're a real geocacher stuck at home when . . ." Etc. What do you think? And what idea would you like to add for a locationless cache?
  2. I got a reply from GC, and understand how it works now. Thanks for the help given.
  3. Got it! Thanks for clearing this up.
  4. Does anybody know when the Adventure Credit is set to 0 when an ALC is created? I'm confused about it being 0 while still building. Publishing was no problem though.
  5. Ja, log even uit in de Adventure Lab app. en log weer in. Dan kloppen de aantallen als het goed is weer met elkaar. Succes!
  6. +1, I too am missing the details on who visited my ALC. Judging from the numbers logging the ALC log, details from the leaderboard and physical bonus cache that was created for the ALC, there are more people not logging either the ALC log or bonus cache at all than those that do. And I can't tell who these people are that apparently visit the ALC but leave no trace whatsoever . . .
  7. @Frau Potter, can you please explain how the “Adventure credits” actually work, as I'm confused over them. End of October 2019, I got the mail from Geocaching HQ that I was chosen to create and publish an Adventure Lab. No idea if the adventure credits actually showed “1” then, but I could create the adventure lab without problems. By the time I was creating and almost ready to publish the ALC (sometime mid-January), the adventure credits were set to “0”. But I could still keep on building the ALC like I could before. I just wasn't sure I was able to publish the ALC with credits set to “0”. After contacting HQ over this, the credits were set to “1” again. I've published my ALC on February 29, and it's live without problems. However, the adventure credits now remain set at “1”. A quick test showed like I am actually able to build another ALC at the moment - and I sure would love to do that. Now does all this mean I can actually build and publish another ALC now, with the first one being live already? Or am I misunderstanding what the actual meaning is of having “1 adventure credits”? Please enlighten me. Thank you!
  8. Just FYI, the Glück Auf 2020 Mega, planned in 3 weeks from now in Essen Germany, has been cancelled due to fears of Corona spreading. The result is federal law now forbidding events with lots of attendees. See https://coord.info/GC7G1GA .
  9. Just to add: making the text selectable would be very useful too. As the text can then be translated in i.e. Google Translate. If you'd want to do that now, it would involve typing all of the text in another app or web page yourself.
  10. About that congratulations screen, I'd find it very useful if we could have a final journal message too, not just journal messages after each stage. That final one could be used to sum all bonus codes, give the coördinates for the Bonus cache, or just add a customised finale or something like that.
  11. The order is not relevant. Fixed sequential order or no order will produce the same error behaviour.
  12. If the app would have enough room to add text in multiple languages, would help too. The 1000-character limit hardly allows for that. Making the text selectable would be very useful too.
  13. What StefandD says! Interesting to read that he has the same issues with the same caches. We both did these lab adventures in May 2019. Could that be part of the issue somehow?
  14. I've done quite some lab adventures by now. Of these, there are two lab adventures that are marked as completed in adventure journal entries, but are not marked as such on the map (i.e. the lab adventure "balloon" remains orange, not white with a mark in it). These two odd behaving lab adventures are: - "Buyten Delft". Of the 5 lab caches in this adventure, 4 were completed on the same day. But one of the original 5 lab caches (and the one I hadn't found that same day) was later replaced by another lab cache that I found on another day. In the adventure description itself, it shows as "completed" and all five locations on the small map here are marked. But the lab adventure balloon for this particular adventure on the big map that is showing all nearby adventures is showing orange as "not completed". - Mostly similar behaviour for the lab adventure "Isolde's ToverLAB". Except that all five lab caches in this adventure were all completed on the same day. The five lab cache locations in this adventure are all marked as "completed", but the lab adventure balloon remains orange. All other completed lab adventures show correctly as "completed" in the lab adventures map. Any ideas about what may cause this behaviour in the app for these two lab adventures? And any suggestions or solutions for how to make these two lab adventures show as completed without having to delete and redo them?
  15. I'll chime in here. I'm in the Netherlands and would love to be able to add English and German translations next to the Dutch language I've used for the standard listing. But there seems no multi-language support for lab caches or lab adventures whatsoever. And the character limit makes it impossible to add descriptions in other languages but the one chosen language.
  16. I'm working for a city with an old historic city center. There's many unknown but very interesting stories about it's history to tell, connected to buildings and sites that are still there. I'd love to have these stories told using lab adventures. Now if lab adventures would support setup for multiple languages and a module to read the text aloud, the lab adventure platform could well become an alternative for audioguides in museums or for guided walks through town
  17. I think so too. Except the HQ event still has a “10” in its icon . . . ?
  18. I just read the news that “Lost & Found Events” are renamed to “Community Celebration Event”. And “Groundspeak Lost & Found Celebration” was renamed to “Geocaching HQ Celebration”. Apparently they are renamed to facilitate the 20 years of Geocaching events. I'm happy to see that and really curious to find out how to organise one of these events myself next year.
  19. Oh, good! And while you're working on that, can you please look into ways to add and integrate them into the standard API? It would be great to have them show up in apps like Cachly and L4C etc, instead of having to switch between applications when you're on a day caching that includes lab caches.
  20. GeoGuy, betekent dat dat er een nieuwe reviewer komt ter vervanging? Of blijft het team gewoon zoals het nu is?
  21. When you filter for events and then select an event, there's no way to immediately see when that event will be. No date is given. Only an (in this case) useless last logged date. And I got the exact opposite from Tuena: I live in the Netherlands, but when searching for events I'm sent to Austraila . . . Then searching for "Virtual" brings me to Moscow. I do like this way of traveling and the suggestions the map makes, but it's just not very useful when you're trying to find geocaches in your area. In the map, my own caches are not distinguishable from any other caches I haven't found yet. No star indicator or anything else shows it's one of mine. Another quirk: When an event cache has not been logged yet, the map suggests to go get it and log FTF. FTF for events? What I'm seeing now looks promising, but it needs quite some work to get it to work properly I think.
  22. How about a (BYO?) picnic? Or a tree or rock climbing course (make sure it's covered by insurance)? Create a few caches that will be published during the meet (best right after imo as not to spoil the event itself)?
  23. If you put it on a bench, it's even easier to make a plate with details and the text 'discover / track at geocaching.com'. That would make the trackable code immediately recognisable as such. And you can even add a QR code to make that page even easier to find for the not-initiated.
  24. Hmmm. Another weird / morbid idea maybe. But have a TB added to the grave and put the TB code on the tombstone? The TB page can detail all the interesting details about the geocacher . . .
  25. Oofff. I hope help is at hand? Wish you all the best, Colleda.
