  1. I have a brand new Zumo 550. I cant return it because best buy wont take back opened items, and my BMW bluetooth helmet seems to keep dropping the connection with the Zumo, i tested it with a motorola razr bluetooth headset and it worked great, absolutely love it. So i would like to sell it for around $500. I bought it for $700. will take cash for local purchase or pay pal for those who need the unit shipped to them. I live in KC, MO. take a look at Garmin's site: http://www.garmin.com/products/zumo/
  2. from the 'where to' page, select settings, then about, then detail maps.
  3. do you have the latest mapsource version? they are on 6.11.6 now. with mapsource running, go to the help button. then about mapsource this will tell you the version. you most defenitly want 6.11.6.
  4. i suggest the street pilot series or even the Nuvi. THe nuvi has much more options such as mp3 player, bluetooth wireless, touchscreen and a easily readable large screen. And its small enough to stick into your pocket when you are on vacation and walking down streets. you can enter waypoints to geocaches, the unit will get you there on the road and then your etrex will do the rest.
  5. why not? on my 3 deployments to iraq we used the garmin etrex's to find and navigate to firefights, carbombs, you name it and the garmin did it. I would strongly suggest the 60 or 76csx units. these offer great reception with the SiRF chips and the mapping and customer service is phenomenal. garmin units get the job done bar none. street details are reliant on local government not the gps companies. if the local government has registered that road and mapped it, you can bet it will be on the next software update.
