  1. I am sure glad that cache got archived because those dogs that were mentioned are dangerous to the almost 50 finders. They must have been so scared of the dogs around the cache that they forgot to mention the dogs in the logs!!! First The Pug, Now the Poet. Who's next??? What a shame. I don't always agree with him but I support the Poet on this point

  3. Directory Home > Things > Historic Things > California Historic Markers If Pennsylvania has a Historic Marker category, California should too. I've always wanted to visit them all. Having the coords for them sure would make it easier. --Marky Well I guess I am 2nd inline after Marky except the one I am proposing is not so generic as what you and Marky are talking about. I dont know the percent but I do know Alot of these historical markers were put up by the "E Clampus Vitus" Chapters here in California. Here is the link to my proposal post Here is a LINK to one of the E Clampus Vitus Chapters in San Diego that list the plaques and their coords.
  4. You could be patient. I just put one in for consideration. Do I be patient for a week? a month? 3 months? Let us know when to check back so you don't get bugged by everyone every few days (unless your into that???) Is there an estimation when all of this comes to fruition??????
  5. Here is a E Clampus Vitus, Billy Holcolm Chapter link that gives directions to and pictures of many of the Plaques that the Chapter has erected. If you do a search on the web you will find many more chapters in and about the wester United States. It kind of hard to pinpoint who these guys are and what they do but...... If you do a web search you will get some backround on "WHO THEY ARE".

  7. I would like to create a new catagory under the "Places" catagory called "E Clampus Vitus Plaques" I am not a member but I have seen a number of these Plaques at historical sites and/or near where historical events have taken place. There are many chapters of this organizations through out the western United States. These Chapters are active in State, Local, and county Historical Societies and they work with the Bureau of land Management (BLM), and the State Department of Transportation to place plaques at greater and lesser historical sites in the western region. Since October 1969, one of the local chapters, The Billy Holcomb Chapter has erected and dedicated 109 plaques, including those along parts of the Mojave Road, The Patton Desert Training Center (C.A.M.A.), Route 66, Speed of Light Experiments, various Historical Buildings and Other Edifices, Local Native Sites and Ruins, and other varied and sundry Persons, Places and events of Historical significance. Here is a E Clampus Vitus, Billy Holcolm Chapter link that gives directions to and pictures of many of the Plaques that the Chapter has erected. If you do a search on the web you will find many more chapters in and about the wester United States. Mahalo and Aloha Moag Ohana I think this would be a really cool subcatogory.
