  1. I'll +1 to that too. :-) Although I notice it's usually the other way around. An owner will enable a cache they've replaced/fixed, and forget to log the "Owner Maintenance" log to remove the attribute. Would also be great if Groundspeak fixed the bug, that caches with no attributes, will show up when performing a query to see what caches need maintenance. Cheers
  2. Just click on my profile on the left, and then click on the geocaches tab. Easy peasy. Here's a couple of examples from Adelaide, Australia: Mrs Flipper's Waymark Challenge #1 SA Web Cam Challenge Cheers
  3. Hi, I've been looking at a cartridge a friend has made and cant think of a way to solve his problem (which he'll have when he goes from the emulator to real hardware). There seems (at least in the builder) only the event "When a player clicks on a task", that can be used to tell that a player has read the task details. Or is there away to add a command to a task to get around the problem of using "When a player clicks on a task", and thus the command can be be added and used to "Ok" that the task has been read. Hope this makes sense. Cheers
  4. How about on Characters? (Seems a likely explanation for one of the bugs I'm trying to sort out.) Thanks heaps
  5. Hi All, Having built my first cartridge and having no problems in the emulator, why do I experience problems when running it on a Colorado (and also a PDA). Is there a list of "Gotcha"s anywhere? I've searched around and have only found one "Gotcha" 1. Make a zone active before making it visible. I'm also wondering whether the Colorado isn't happy because I've used ".jpeg" rather than ".jpg"? Cheers and Thanks in Advance
  6. Hi, Just did built my first Wherigo for a cache in South Australia, and managed to get through the publishing process. I found it awkward because it didn't seem clear to me what was happening when I selected "Publish" from the builder (I was thinking it would copy the files up to the Wherigo site), so thought I'd add my analysis of what happens, so please correct me if I'm wrong. 1. Selecting Publish connects to the Wherigo site to access tools there (I'm guessing their compiler and possibly winzip too). 2. "Publish" then compiles the .lua file to ensure everything that is required can be seen by the script. 3. "Publish" zips the .lua file and any extra files (e.g .jpegs etc.) and changes the extension from .zip to .gwz The user then manually uploads this gwz file from a page on the Wherigo site. Where a player downloads a cartridge, the site does a compile so only a .gwc file is downloaded (I was worried that putting the final coords as a jpeg meant that players could see it when I uploaded the .gwz file) (Note: I could change permissions and allow the source to be downloaded, in which case the jpeg is visible.). When needing to update, the process is similar, except you go to the existing page and upload a new .gwz from there. One trap I found (because I sent the files home to upload), is to publish to your machine immediately before doing a publish. This will ensure all files are accessible (I had a jpeg in a different directory at home ) Hope this makes sense, and that I understand the process now. Cheers
  7. Thanks for you insight into the inner PQ workings Markwell. Also enjoyed reading through your FAQ link. Cheers
  8. Okay, cool. So what are the techniques? Is there anything more expedient than clicking on every single one and checking the status? I can sort GSAK for DNFs but that still leaves me with a task of checking every one. Run the same query(s) that produced the original data - then update GSAK. Sort caches by last updated date - if they failed to update - you can conclude they were not in the query and therefore archived. Set all the caches to archive first in GSAK, then import your GPX files. GSAK will correct the active status if they are in the GPX file. Alternatively you could create notifcations that watch for "Archived" logs on caches within 200 kms of your home (although you'll need to set them up for each type - Traditional, Multi and Puzzle should be sufficient). Then remove the cache straight away from your GPSr. Cheers
  9. I recently ran a pocket query looking for caches in my local state that had the "Needs Maintenance" attribute set. Suprisingly I had some caches in the list, that when I looked at their cache page, the attribute was not set, and a "Maintenance Performed" log existed. The common theme amongst the pages was that they had no attributes (as they were old caches, created before attributes existed). For example "Damien's Cache". Also, I noticed quite a few caches where the owner had replaced the cache, enabled the cache (after disabling it) and was still left with a "Needs Maintenace" attribute. Can the "Enable" log be altered to also remove the Maintenance Attribute? Cheers and Thanks
  10. The problem probably has nothing to do with the distance, but rather the direction. Is it directly north or south of your home coords? That is a known bug. Here's a link to a previous thread with the same issue. Directly South (only 0.024 difference in the Easting). Thanks for the info. Cheers
  11. I don't see any problem, the direction's there for me. It must be a bug with the function that fills in the info for bearing/distance from home coords, at that particular distance for me.
  12. I got a notification last night for a new cache, but it was just listed as 22km away - no direction. Checking its page (GC1AR67) it also shows only 22km. Looking at other new caches (including multis) I get the distance and the direction. Is it something strange about the cache page, or is it a quirk with the distance Cheers and Thanks
  13. How about giving the options to hear the sound or not? For example, one could do this: Click Here To Turn on Sound (wav from Man of Steel cache) But, how do I open the new window into the background so the current one retains focus?
  14. Hi All, Its neat having the list of "My caches waiting for review" at the top of "My Account Details Page". I'd like to suggest that an additional list of "My caches requiring maintenance" get added to the top. This list would include my caches that I've temporarily disabled or another cacher has added a "Needs Maintenance Log" on. Perhaps after a couple of weeks the cache names could change to red or their font increased (not sure a "*" which appears next to travellers I'd had awhile would help). I hoping that having the list would promt/bug other cachers to replacing/fixing their list, plus its a quick way for me to get back to my cache page of a cache I'm fixing. .... or am I the only one that keeps the link to "My Account Details Page" open Cheers
  15. I agree. And when using slow connection opening a cachepage that has many pictures takes ages. Agree - especially when you've already used the photos in the listing, to then have them displayed again seems quite bizarre.
  16. I was about to suggest this, when I saw the topic. Rather than rectangular, perhaps entering a polygon - i.e closing the loop on a route enquiry, and then returning caches on the area inside. I work 8kms out from Adelaide, a major city in Aus, so don't want to head into the city to cache at lunch (due to parking and traffic), but around my work and 15km North it is quick to get to at lunch. At the moment I'll be setting this up as a route query, but it isn't the easiest solution to the problem.
