  1. Exactly! I could (not) care less about the color. My #1 hope is that it takes care of the performance issues that we've all struggled with for years. If it does, then I am content. I like the colored quotations. Hmmm.... I wonder what the quote limit is now... teeheehee!! Gee, Knowschad... that is a Very Good Question!I bet ten.At 6 so far.7 maybe? This makes eight. Just trying to help... 10 DOH!

  5. Meh, not bad, it takes a few days to work out the little issues, but I will adjust.
  6. I have used those in the mid to late nineties for doing airfied suveys.
  7. I am just glad the "N" word wasn't brought up.
  8. If it keeps shutting off, it needs an update, but if you turn the waas off it should stop doing that, My first is a etrex vista, which I still use exclusivly, I have a magellan for the car and motorcycle.
  9. I am not new here and I have more that 25 post, but that is where it wants to stay sooooo. Back on topic. I used to be really active in cacheing but about a year and a half ago I started getting a little, (OK alot) plantar faciitis and worton's neuroma in my feet. I couldn't walk more that a few minutes, stand for extended periods of time and sure as heck couldn't go trapseing around the woods like I had been. Well I am finally getting to the point to where I am more mobile had my last podiatrist appointment and in physical therapy to get full mobility back. I have been lurking the entire time and have kept up my membership and noticed a bit of change but still alot of the same great people. I am so looking forward to getting back into the game. My kids and wife miss going out and about and I miss the time we had sharing the fun. I didn't always log my finds, ok almost never I did it for the fun not the glory, but I think I will start setting out some caches in my local area. I just wanted to say "HI" again.
  10. I personally do not trust anybody. Here in Rural Torrance county NM there are some nefarious characters here that just want to be left alone.....period. I afford them that right. I also reserve the right to defend myself if being left alone isn't enough.
  11. We are discussing it in this thread these days. I really enjoyed reading the old posts, I have some stuck pictures at home, will post them later.
  12. I have found a few benchmarks here on Kirtland AFB and no matter how many times I called base security and got the ok I would get grilled by some cop who didn't get the memo. I am as polite as I can be, they make a call, find out I have permission and let me go.
  13. HHHMmmmm, cuts brusies, gaches, one black eye and a scorpion sting , but I have never been hurt bad it is just part of the fun.
  14. I had the same problem with my e-trex vista, did a hard reset and it came around.
  15. I have been a couple of situations where there have been some wild dogs or agressive animals, but I also carry a large machete and a large Mk III dive knife so I can get a least a few licks in.
  16. It may have very well been a joke, but all it takes is one mischivous prankster(all I could do to keep it clean) to mess things all up. It is irresponsible for someone to print the descretion of a sport or hobby for someone elses amusement.
  17. A bad day caching is better than a good day of anything, (with the exception of time spent with the better half)
  18. I always keep a big sheet of cork from NAPA on hand for different sealing jobs. It is faily cheap. Also you can get various types of rolle weather stripping that works wonders.
  19. I am a Tech Seargent in the Air Force, right now I am an IT administrator, but list of jobs, flight engineer on an MH-53J, HH-60G, Special Tactics Support geek, Vehicle maintenance craftsmen. I have been through survival school, beatings and advanced beatings, navy dive school, mercury outboard school, zodiac repair school, five static line jumps with the Thai special forces, been to most countries in asia and the pacific, and am currently working at Kirland AFB New Mexico. A medical condition keeps me from doing the fun stuff anymore, but retirement is around the corner.
  20. There was extensive discussion on the Geocaching side.......The airway beacon was used in early aviation as a navaid. The waymark would have been at the center of the rotating beacon. Since there is very few of these airway beacons left I would say if the rotating beacon is gone so is the waymark....but log as a did not find.
