  1. I would do both ideas but if its to far for you to just go back to sign the log book I would then just log it as a find.
  2. Did any one find out about Geocaching by coming accross a cache then going to the site to find out about it?

  5. I think its just fun to see who goes to your cache and what passes through it. Although I havnt placed any on the site yet.
  6. If there were any snorkle ones id try them. (not in lake erie but mabey if i was ever on vacation in florida)
  7. Wouldnt these seed caches spread alot of micros around though. Personally id rather see caches where something can be placed inside.
  8. Does any one have a pics of urban caches or links to some that have photos in the gallary? Would a towne center (strip mall with like subway, grocery store, ect) be a good place to hide a urban cache?
  9. That camo is pretty neat. Il have to try that sometime
  10. Does it have to been in the shape of cards?
  11. Im 15 and I cache alone. How old are your kids. PS. this has been a topic many times before. PSS. Tell them to join my kid cachers yahoo group in my sig
  12. My apologies for this inane waste of your time but I just want to clarify this since my wife and I are still planning this cache. We're down to picking the perfect spot in the park at this point. Basicly the last thing I want is someone claiming I stole the idea from Al since it involves a mixture of bookcrossing and TB hotels. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=0entry731318 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=0entry758941 That being out of the way, a few chunks of reality need to enter the system. In order to seed a TB hotel Al is either going to have to create a decent number of TB's or gather a lot of TB's in a very short period of time (in order to avoid claims of "hording" or not moving TBs in a timely manner). How to seed such a cache is something that definately needs thinking about. The container for a such a cache needs to be large enough to hold all the items (books and TBs aren't small) but because of the perceived value of the items (TBs are cherished by their owners) it needs to be very well hidden. It needs to pass the "muggle" test as well as the "Tom Sawyer" test. (Would it be found by a Muggle? No. Good. Now would it be found by Tom Sawyer? Not all kids are couch potatoes who stay on the paved trails and avoid the mud. Would a modern Tom Sawyer find this cache? If so, should this cache be trusted to hold large numbers of Travel Bugs?) At this point there is a new cache within 180 feet of Al's only previous find (which is now archived). Personally, I would be a lot more confident in his ability to create a cache designed to hold travel bugs if he used his new GPS and logged his first find with a GPS. I realize it's probably cold as hell there right now, but if you can't find a cache this time of year than I suspect that you can't maintain one either. Yes its cold here but thats not whast stopping me from caching latly. I searched for a cache about a week ago and I didnt find it. because it was a multi I found the first part but didnt quite get all the clues right to find the final. But whats really been holding me from finding caches now is my busy schedual. Nid terms comign up means more studing. Plus it gets dark very early and I dont get home from school till about 4 (getting dark at 5) gives me an hour to get my things togethor leave the house and find the cache. Plus my parents dont get home until 6ish leaving me with no ride till then. But next weekend I plan to find some. I would say this weekend but I must study for midterms.
  13. The beauty of the system is that you can more easily find the posts that actually help. Not so much to stop people from posting. Yeah but different post help different people. Not all the post help all the people.
  14. People would still post alot in hope that one of the post will be helpful. So really I dont think that part of the feature would change anything.
  15. Personally I dont really like the idea. I have thought of this before and came to People like to hike and search for the cache. Alot of peoples reasons for cachign is because it gets them out of the house. They dont want to go inside the house again to find the clues to the cache. Idk (I dont know) if it was by me I wouldnt do this cache. Thats just my 2 cents though.
  16. My dog right now knows "wanna go for a walk" and gets really excited when we say it. Does any body here have a dog that when you say "what to go geocaching" it knows right away that means hiking and treasure huntering and gets all excited to go? EDIT: I hope to in time have my dog trained to know what geocaching is.
  17. I heard about this rumor also. I hope the site doesnt get sold. Who knows what changes Disney might make to it.
  18. Go to Hide & seek a cache. Search it there and you can adjust the miles on that page too.
  19. WOW! this is the neatest idea. I will have to plant one around here sometime.
