  1. Thanks for the response. I have been using GSAK for Waymarking as well as for geocaching but it's a pain loading the individual files into GSAK. When I do a Waymarking search I get a list of up to 25 Waymarks per page. I can check one or all of these and download all of them into GSAK at the same time. Problem is that only the gpx lite is available that way - the lite version does not even include the visit requirements. Is there a work around to get the full versions a page at a time rather than just one at a time?
  2. I can download the full gpx files separately for each waymark and I can download multiple gpx lite files but is there any way to download multiple full Waymarking gpx files similar to geocaching pocket queries?
  3. Thanks. Last night, I tried numerous combinations including the ones in the response and got DNF each time. Either there was a glich that has been fixed or I inadvertently did something wrong. Other than the layout, the only issue that I still would like to see fixed is the inability to do a United States or global search. As I indicated before, with the old search system I could enter, for example, "Cache Across America" in the 'Name Starts With' box and get a list of all 51+ caches in the series. Also, I could enter any 'Starts With' and get a worldwide list of caches that started with the parameter entered. Apparently, to get the same list with the new system, I would have to do a search for each state individually or each country individually. Is there a way to do a more global search as we could before?
  4. Nice attempt at a new search engine but it seems to have many flaws. 1. I am gradually completing the "Cache Across America" series and wanted to find the location of the cache in Tennessee. With the old search engine, I could put "Cache Across America" in the box for cache starts with and I would get a list of all the caches everywhere that started with "Cache Across America". Now, if I don't already know where the CAA cache is in a particular state, I can't find easily find it. For example, I am going to Tennessee tomorrow and wanted to see if I would be passing close to the "Cache Across America - Tennessee" cache. I put Tennessee in the location box, clicked on the add filters box. Then I entered Cache Across America in the cache name contains box and got a DNF. I happen to know that the CAA cache in Tennessee is within a 30 mile radius of Franklin, Tennessee so I put that in the search location box and entered Cache Across America in the name contains box and the search came up with the Tennessee CAA listing but only because I knew the approximate location. Next week, I am going to the MOGA event and want to know if I will be close to the CAA cache for Missouri but, since I don't know its location within a 30 mile radius, I couldn't find the listing. 2. With the old search engine, I could search by state name and get a list of all the up coming events and all of the new caches in that state. I can not do that with the new search engine. Please incorporate into the new system all of the features that were available with the old system. If that can't be done, please give the old system back to us.
  5. In what ways? Selfie or webcam method? All I know is, the issue is being worked on as I speak. Is the webcam working yet? It wasn't earlier today. According to the NA log on that page, it hasn't been working for 6 months. It will get archived after woodstock when 1000's of cachers log it with a selfie picture. What make it worse is the CO is asking you to do it. It should be archived now. No reason for that many selfies to be posted anywhere. Any other cache where the CO says to log it in a manner which goes against the guidelines would be archived in a hurry. They should lock it, too. That CO should be ashamed of encouraging/allowing selfies as a way of logging the webcam. Oh no... we need to save the webcam caches!!! I disagree with K13 and others of like mind. The CO of a webcam has no control over down time or maintenance time for the webcam. I think it entirely appropriate for the alternate logging method to be allowed. After all, if a cacher hikes 5 miles only to find a mush log or a destroyed cache or a confirmed missing cache, the CO can give permission to log a find even though a log could not be signed. Of course, the cacher can elect not to log a find (that is what I do in those circumstances) but logging the find would be acceptable. In principle, an alternate logging method for a webcam that is down for maintenance would be no different.
  6. In what ways? Selfie or webcam method? Unfortunately, the webcam has been archived. Also unfortunate is the fact that a PQ for webcams did not list an active webcam within 100 miles of GW XII.
  7. Geocoinfest 2012 in Montana would be great and I'd be there.
  8. Thanks! Got it! I appreciate the response and the help.
  9. It has been very confusing terminology for sure. I'm not sure of your exact process here, but the act of retrieving might be the problem... or not. It's possible the switch gets changed when you take it into 'possession' again... but it doesn't change the listing... OR more likely, there is a problem with another term... INVENTORY... that is a list of what you have... I believe that this collectible setting only affects the list which shows on the LOGGING page which allows you to drop trackables... I'm not enough of a player to be sure, but mine only come and go from that list... but I still see all of my trackables in my Inventory. Another point is that you can only influence trackables that you owner of... but I think that is obvious... people usually use archived caches for storing other peoples items, not currently circulating. It will be 'clarified' soon we hope. Doug 7rxc Thanks. Retrieving them from a storage cache might be part of the problem but the coins that I just activated, marked as collectible and that have never been in a storage cache show up on the inventory and the list on the logging page. I have the exact same list on both my inventory and on the logging page. The coins that are "stashed" in one of my archived caches do not show up on either list but are listed on my profile trackables list.
  10. I collect geocoins and none of them are in circulation. From that perspective, it really doesn't matter whether I mark my geocoins as collectible or non-collectible. I understand from the forums and from Groundspeak knowledge that the purpose of the ability to mark a coin as collectible is to remove those coin listings from the active inventory so that one doesn't have to sort through a large number of collection coin listings each time a traveling coin is dropped into a cache. Great idea .... if it worked. I had all of my collection coins listed in 2 archived caches of mine so that only the traveling trackables in my possession showed up on my inventory list. It's much easier, obviously, to sort through a list of a few trackables than it is to sort through a list of 100+ collection coins. With the collectible option, I started "retrieving" my coins from the archived caches and marking the coins as collectible - every one of them are now listed on my inventory. Either I was wrong about the purpose of collectible vs non-collectible or there is a glitch in the system. Please clarify the purpose of being able to mark a coin as collectible or non-collectible especially with respect to the active inventory list.
  11. Obviously I'm not the only one having problems with the new Google maps. In my opinion, the new maps are worse than useless. I geocache in areas where there may only be 3 or 4 caches in a 20 mile radius. With the old maps, I could zoom out far enough to see larger numbers of caches in these remote areas. Now, I get the error message, "Your search was larger than 15 miles. Please zoom in closer." Also, the cache lists are not as user friendly and the cache type legend on the right (replaced the cache list) is worthless. Please return to the old maps or at least give us the choice between the old and new. I tried to email Groundspeak directly about the new maps and was referred to this forum. I hope that Groundspeak actually monitors these posts. If not, a lot of people are wasting a lot of time and effort.
  12. I have seen "TFTC" on numerous log entries. I'm sure it is simple and the answer is probably right in front of me but .... What is TFTC? T. Martin
