  1. I'm leaving from the middle Georgia area and heading to the Roanoke area of Virginia. Anyone who wants to meet up to hand off some travel bugs... let me know! I'm leaving on the 21st and heading back on the second of May... happy caching
  2. I'm on my way to Virginia next week... and of course I've ran my pq's... but I was wondering if there was a way to find ONLY geocaches at rest stops. I will find my drive going from 6 hours to ten hours easy.. because I will stop for every cache along the way..lol
  3. A friend informed me that he couldn't get on the forums because he's not a premium member... is this so? That's crap, if so..
  4. can someone tell me where i go to print out logs, or that sign you hang in the mirror?
  5. Thanks so much for the tip. I will def. do this. It had never occured to me. When I log in from my laptop... where do i find these field notes that i have saved?
  6. Youre right .. as a whole.. we humans tend to complain about changes, or say nothing if we like it.
  7. how much is the cheaper price? do you recall?
  8. Touche... I guess I just see all the complaints. I've been out of it for quite sometime.. so I expected changes..lol
  9. 35 here. I have noticed it too. I'm one of the younger ones by a long shot at my group meetings.. and i tend to drift in and out of it.. mostly because I can't always find people to do it with.. and it's more fun to do in groups... but i enjoy it nonetheless.
  10. In the past I've used GSAK. I like it.. I like it a lot. But let's face it.... times can be tough. I'm looking for something that does the same thing.. or similar.. but is FREE... or cheaper. If the popular opinion is that GSAK is the best of the best.. and nothing comes close. By all means, I'll pay the thirty dollars. I realize it's cheaper if you upgrade. Will the programmer have it on file somewhere that I have paid for it in the past? This is a different laptop that I use.. a little less "buggy" than my old one.
  11. why do they keep changing it if everyone... paid members, and free alike.. don't like it? and why don't "they" speak up about why they won't?
  12. I have to be honest. Technology has made things a lot easier... there's nothing like logging your finds as you go via an app on your phone as opposed to logging a bunch in the evening or night after a long, hot day of trekking through the woods. Having said that though... its not as personal anymore. I for one find myself logging a quick TFTC. Or something along those lines.. and then it's quick .. onto the next. Its harder to be more "wordy" while on your phone than it is sitting down at your laptop. I miss reading the logs.. and posting them? Well I go back to logging them with my laptop? Hell no. Time is money. But still.. the nostalgia
  13. i have a roll of toilet paper too.. One horror story was one too many... lesson learned
  14. who really cares?? I mean seriously, who are they cheating? Themselves.
  15. I'm always looking for new things that are "good ideas" to bring along for my trips. In mine you will find some swag... a flashlight.. a few batteries..tweezers... a couple of walmart bags for CITO.. a few pins.. and ummm.. yes.. a fanny pack to grab for the short treks. what do you have??
  16. My, my technology sure has come a long way. What will come next? Luckily in a sport such as this... there is only so far technology can take you. I guess thats one of the many reasons I enjoy it so much. On pretty days.. it takes the place of the gym and gives me a reason to get outside. I love introducing it to my friends and telling them of the "days gone by."
  17. I got a palm piolt for geocaching too. I don't remember if it was gsak or something else. I might just have to fire up the old palm..lol
  18. Gone are the days of printing out endless papers of clues for our finds. Its a bit nostalgic..lol I kept a binder and jotted down notes on my finds and separated them based on area. A hard copy of GSAK, if you will.. lol
  19. I'm off several days during the week.. i work a 2-2-3 schedule. I was looking for someone... or a few someones to pal around with and hunt some smilies in my off time. I'm from the Milledgeville area so anywhere surrounding would be great. Happy caching!
  20. I was wondering if there were any fellow cachers that wanted to meet up wed or thursday of this week to log some finds in the Macon area... Lemme know, folks and happy caching!
  21. I think that if the only thing you have to complain about in life is some icons... you're doing really great! Stop being negative. Is it really that serious?
  22. 30 bux. excellent for paperless caching
