Probably about 3-4 hours. Pretty good i guess for a teenager. I learned that the drill worked alot better than the chisel. I might make a little more room though, and i will clean it up some. Its kinda tight, i want the finder to be able to easily get it out. Just gotta find a old cut up tree to place it by. I might try to make an even harder hide like a big hollow rock. Still thinking though. -

Well.... my container is finally done. I used a drill, hammer, and some various chisels. The bark keeps peeling off, wood glue, and hot glue aint worked, should i just leave it peeling? Or should i carefully put a few staples in? Heres pics... -

Ok, ill work on it some more today. I was using a wood chisel (didnt know what it was a wood chisel), but i didnt like it, and yes, it is sharp. I have brand new paddle bits too. It cuts easily with some pressure, but the log weighs about 60 pounds. (it was laying near a river that raises alot and floods the area around it) so its really really soaked. Cool lightsaber and deer pirate. -

I dont have any wood chisels, im just tryin to do the best with what i got. lol I didnt cut tree, we found it laying in woods, and i picked that one. I love building things too, so this is alot of fun for me. I wanna place it near a tree in the woods thats been cut up, or in a pile of old logs. Thanks for the comments!! -

Just to let yall know. Drilling a hole in a log to place a container in, is HARD WORK!!! This is about 2 hours worth of input, about halfway there. Log is real wet, even this big drill gets bogged down. Forget about the cordless. What yall think so far?? -

Yall know what would be a neat multi?? If someone found a park few muggles went to, and had a body part multi. First cache would be legs, then arms, then torso, then the final would be a big pretzel jar in a mask, what yall think?? Just need to make sure no muggle sees somebody taking out or replacing a body part in some bushes or a tree. LOL -
here comes a muggle. you're busted. what do you do?

Why dont yall just tell them what your doing? Thats what we do. If you dont tell them, they may call cops, or be suspicious. If you dont tell them, then other people wont get interested into geocaching. If we get more people geocaching, then GPS manufacturers may start to listen to us more and would be known more. JMHO -
Computer is fighting me!! Does anyone have a Garmin model that has Sirf. If so how much better does it help. Why doesnt Garmin make a cheaper model with Sirf in it? I just wanted to know if it was worth investing into at a later date. Thanks!! Robert

I got a few tennis balls, and have a 35mm film canister. I cut the film canister so it was about 1/2 inch long (including the lid). I cut a opening in the ball just big enough for the cut canister to slide in a little ways. I then hot glued around where the two meet. The cache is a micro and waterproof. The opening is 35 mm, but the inside is a little bigger than what the normal canister would be. What do yall think? I may post a pic later. Robert -
I got one too!! I dont know how to log it, that site still aint availible, any help please?? THanks!!

i think i got it right this time

I plan on maybe hiding it a little ways into the woods. It is kinda waterproof, everything is gonna be in a plastic bag. Thanks!!

I have a cheap scredriver, and it has interchangeable bits. I am able to take the end cap off with the flat head bit it comes with. It is hollow inside, and about 3 inches deep. Would this be an ok cache? It can hold a small pencil, and paper, i am also thinking about putting an extra bit inside, incase somebody drops the first one. Thanks for your opinions!!

Today, Normdiver (my dad), Jaywxman (little brother), and me headed to a park with many caches. The first 2 we found with few problems. Then we got into the forest, and we couldnt find 4 straight in a row. What are we doing wrong? The GPS keeps telling us to go to different areas. Then, on our 7th cache of the day, we found it. It was about 60 feet off from where the GPS was telling us. Is this normal? I found a bunch of baby skinks, a baby 6" garter, a brown tree frog, and 2 southern leapord frogs, not including all the beetles, and slugs. Thanks!! P.S. I thought i could put pics, but i cant. Sorry

We have alot of water around SE Virginia. I was wondering if people kayaked/canoed looking for caches. We have 3 kayaks, so i was thinking about placing one only accesible by kayak? Thanks
