  1. Excellent condition, just returned from factory. New case installed due to case crack issue. No scratches or marks. Screen protector still on the unit. All factory packaging, papers, manuals, cable, etc. Has built in base map, plus the ability to load Magellan map software. $150 + shipping. MI VHNTR
  2. D0T-C0M, I see that you are getting the same run around from Magellan, as I am. AS you already know, there are also many others. It seems that it's not okay to tell the truth about your dealings this GPS manufacturer. It awakens the ire of the "gps police/know-it-alls/psychics." As I said earlier, some people just don't get it.
  3. FWIW, Magellan FINALLY!! answered my first email. The unit will head to Thales tomorrow. Furthermore, my original question was/is a legitimate concern, regardless of the "holiday". How can Garmin answer the same day and Magellan take 11 times longer to reply? This would be a legitimate concern, especially if it was YOUR GPS that was affected. I wouldn't have posted this if I didn't want any cogniscent replies. Common sense is lacking in society. Some people just don't get it. GFY For those that try to defend this nonsense,.... It only took 11 days for a reply.
  4. I'm fully aware of when July 4th is. Thank you very much. The email was sent June 30th. The automated reply was dated July 1. To further clarify the issue, I also checked on the email that I had sent to Garmin. I sent Garmin an email on July 8th and they answered it the same day. BIG DIFFERENCE. Magellan service leaves a lot to be desired. Again, thank you for your helpful reply.
  5. I've got a Magellan SproTrak Pro that been lightly used. I noticed the case starting to show the "infamous" cracks, so I emailed Magellan about it. Well, that was over a week ago and still NO REPLY. A followup email was also sent to them with the same results (none). Here's the kicker. I sent Garmin a simple question about rebates on their units. They replied the SAME DAY. Needless to say, I'm a bit miffed about the lack of customer service from Magellan. I'm giving very serious though to gettting rid of the STP and buying another Garmin. At least Garmin answers their email. What's a fair price for a used STP? TIA.
  6. Software is SPF. Thanks to all that inquired. MI VHNTR
  7. Asking $35 ea shipped or $65 for both shipped. I have no use for these programs. 5/14/05 MI VHNTR
  8. Magellan Streets and Destinations USA (4.0) and Topo USA (3.0) for Magellan mapping units. Excellent condition and both come with all factory packaging, papers etc. These are not copies of software, but factory CDs. Asking $40 ea shipped or $75 for both shipped. MI VHNTR
  9. I've got both Magellan programs. Check your PMs. MI VHNTR
  10. I've got both the MapSend CDs, Topo and Streets and Destinations that I don't use. Check your PM. MI VHNTR
  11. I've had Garmin and Magellan units, so either one would be relatively easy to get up to speed on its use/features. You do make a good point as far as not having to buy the software. It would get pretty expensive to replace both CDs. Thanks, MI VHNTR
  12. I'm just toying with the idea of getting a color unit. I realize that it won't help anything as far as accuracy, etc. It's just the idea of getting a new unit to play with. Maybe I'll get a Garmin this time. Thanks again for your input. MI VHNTR
  13. I'm wondering what my Magellan SporTrak Pro and Mapsend Topo and Streets and Destinations CDs would be worth if I sell them. The unit is in excellent condition with no scratches or marks. All factory packaging, book and cable. CDs are in like condition. I may sell them to get a new color GPS. TIA MI VHNTR
  14. yocallen, the unit was sold this morning and I'm awaiting funds. Thanks for your interest. MI VHNTR

  18. Garmin Venture in excellent condition. It comes with all factory packaging, manual and papers, wrist strap, and gps to computer cable. Also has latest software updates. $120 shipped and insured. MI VHNTR
  19. 1st generation ETrex is better than 2nd generation ETrex? I, too, have tried both units and found the yellow to be lacking in many areas. Besides, the extra features of the Venture, including WAAS and the pc to GPS cable, make it a better buy. MI VHNTR
