  1. Just wondering if anything became of this? Ya'll meet?
  2. 5.8 miles for me around Paul Yost's Yellow trail finding 6 caches along the way. A great day of hiking with caching to boot. Thinking about Scotts Gap area maybe this Saturday.
  3. I don't believe any Garmin software will work to transfer data to your GPS because it's serial. Garmin states that fact on their website. I've got almost the same setup as you. OSX 10.5.6 and the USB>Serial is Keyspan. I transfer data using MacCache as it 'sees' the gps, and as BlueDamsel mentioned, you need to select the correct serial device amongst those offered. Make sure the Keyspan driver is run and the gps connected before you start MacCache. Thank you. I'm beginning to believe you're correct about the serial thing. My Mac does not have a serial port, hence I'm am using the usb adapter. Unfortunately I have been at this for about a week now and I still can not get it to work. Oh well, I guess I can always try to talk my way into a new gps! Thank you to all that have attempted to help thus far. It just doesn't work using the Garmin software. It works using MacCache or GPSBabel with the KeySpan usb>serial adapter.

  6. I have a G5 (10.5.6) and that's the one I use. Be advised that the WebUpdater from Garmin does not support serial (on a Mac, Windows only). I used the adapter connected to the wife's XP to update my Etrex Legend firmware. Mac-Caching works good.
  7. Anyone thinking about or pondering the idea of braving the temperature today and wandering/hiking in the Jefferson Memorial Forest? *edited to add* I went out and was able to find a few around the Yellow Trail in Forest View Park.
  8. Well.... it appears to in my log. I count 24 finds and 1 "needs maintenance" and my Stats Bar shows caches found as 25? Confusing to me.
  9. Sooo I'm one of those that this speaks of!!! I just became a Premium member today and tried my first PQ earlier. But I wonder... when I look at my Pocket Queries screen, it shows Never in the Last Generated column. I clicked the "Submit Information" button at the bottom of the screen so I'm in the same boat as the rest are... I hope?
